Amazon’s October 2025 shopping event is listed in its own materials as Prime Big Deal Days. In the U.S., it ran from 12:01 a.m. PDT on October 7 through 11:59 p.m. PDT on October 8, 2025, and Amazon described it as 48 hours of deals for Prime members. The event has ended, so none of the prices below are current. This article explains what Amazon featured, which products it highlighted with discount figures, and how to decide whether any of those products is worth buying today.
What the event was called and when it ran
“October Prime Day” is the phrase most shoppers search for, but Amazon’s official name for the October 2025 event was Prime Big Deal Days. Keep the two names separate when you read coverage or old listings, because the event dates are the reliable identifier.

- Other countries: Amazon’s U.S. announcement listed October 7 start dates for the U.S. and several other countries, but availability and terms varied by country.
- United Kingdom: Amazon UK announced its own event for October 7–8 with UK-specific examples. Those UK offers and prices do not apply to U.S. shoppers and should not be carried over into a U.S. buying decision.
What Amazon said was on sale
Amazon described millions of deals across more than 35 categories, including electronics, home and kitchen, fashion, beauty, toys, gifts, and household essentials. That is a description of breadth, not a claim that every item was discounted or that any single category offered the best prices of the year.

The recap also named an Apple Watch Series 10, an Xbox controller, a Lenovo Tab One, and a Ninja kitchen system. No discount percentage is attached to those items in this article, so read them as products Amazon featured rather than as measured deals.
Brands Amazon promoted in its September preview
Amazon’s September 2025 preview mentioned KitchenAid, Shark, LEGO, tarte, Dove, Crest, Anker power banks, Bose headphones, and TVs from LG and Hisense. Like the October examples, these were brands and products Amazon chose to promote. They were not a ranking of the best value in the event.

The retailer’s framing
Carmen Nestares, Amazon’s vice president of North America Marketing and Prime Tech, described the event this way in September 2025: “Prime Big Deal Days is all about giving our members a head start on the holidays—with millions of deals across popular categories like seasonal favorites, must-have gifts, and household essentials, all with the convenience of fast, free delivery.” That is a promotional statement from the retailer, not an independent finding that the prices were the lowest available.
How the event was structured
- Membership: Amazon said Prime membership was required to access the exclusive event offers.
- Timed deals: Amazon’s September preview described limited-time “Today’s Big Deals” released at 12 a.m., 8 a.m., and 1 p.m. Pacific Time, available while supplies lasted. Treat those release times as Amazon’s preview description rather than a guaranteed schedule for every item.
- Tracking tools: Amazon’s recap suggested checking Buy Again for repeat purchases and adding products to Lists to keep track of them.
What the discounts do and do not show
The percentages above answer one question: what Amazon said it discounted during a window that has now closed. They do not answer whether a product is cheap today or whether it was cheap compared with other stores.

- Not an audit: Amazon’s recap is not an independent price-history check, and no independent price-history or comparison test supports the figures.
- “Up to” is a ceiling: A figure such as “up to 26%” describes the best case among the configurations Amazon included, not the price of the model or bundle you might choose.
- Not a record low: A large percentage off a list price does not establish that the item hit its lowest price, or that it beat another retailer’s price on the same day.
- Subject to change: Amazon said deals and availability were subject to change, so none of these offers can be assumed to exist now.
How to decide whether a product is worth buying now
Use the event list as a starting point for what Amazon was promoting, then check each item on its own terms.
- Open the current listing on Amazon’s U.S. site and confirm the exact model number and what the bundle includes. The Fire TV Stick 4K Max + Luna Controller bundle and the Kindle Colorsoft Essentials Bundle are both sold as configurations, so compare contents, not just names.
- Check the current price against a price-history tool or against your own records of previous prices. Without that history, a “discount” is measured against a reference price that the seller sets.
- Compare the same model, with the same bundle contents and warranty terms, at at least one other retailer before you buy.
- Confirm the return window and delivery terms on the listing at the time of purchase.
- Decide whether you need the item at all. Use Buy Again and Lists to track it rather than buying during a time-limited window out of urgency.
For the 2025 event specifically, the reliable record is Amazon’s own description of what it promoted. For anything you might buy now, the current listing and an independent price check are the only evidence that matters.
