That makes the business’s many relationships easier to see and compare. It does not prove that the event creates trust—or that any particular provider is trustworthy. For a buyer, trust still depends on checking each party’s role, incentives, experience, and accountability.
What is the Monaco Yacht Show?
The Monaco Yacht Show is an annual superyachting event held at Port Hercule in Monaco. The organizer says the show dates to 1991 and is intended to help visitors discover and compare yacht purchase and charter projects. Its official overview describes an edition featuring 118 expected superyachts, around 60 luxury tenders, and more than 560 exhibitors. Those are edition-sensitive figures, not guaranteed counts for every year.
The scale is also reflected in organizer-reported attendance and exhibitor figures: the show’s media kit reports 29,956 prospective clients and industry players and 564 exhibitors for 2025. The media-kit text does not explain how those figures were counted or establish independent auditing, so they are best read as the organizer’s event figures.
Who attends, and what does the network cover?
The show is not only a place to view yachts. Its 2026 exhibitor announcement presents a cross-section of people and businesses that may contribute to a yacht project at different stages:

The show’s 2026 exhibitor announcement is the basis for this description of the event’s ecosystem. Toby Moore, CEO of Informa Prestige, described the exhibitor list as a way for visitors to begin planning important conversations. That is the organizer’s view of the event’s value; it is not independent evidence that those conversations improve transaction outcomes.
Why does this matter to a yacht buyer?
A yacht purchase or build is not a single-provider decision. A buyer may encounter a broker, builder, designer, technical specialist, insurer, lawyer, and manager, with each responsible for a different part of the project. Seeing those roles together can help a buyer understand who is available and compare approaches through direct conversations. It also makes clear that ownership involves decisions beyond selecting a vessel, including risk coverage, legal arrangements, technical execution, and ongoing management.

The production base is broad, but output is concentrated among a smaller number of yards. The show’s 2024 market report says 239 shipyards completed a superyacht during 2014–2023, while 38 yards delivered ten or more in that period. Those figures describe activity across those years; they do not establish that a yard’s event presence, production volume, or visibility guarantees a good fit for a buyer.
How can you choose a broker, builder, or specialist you can trust?
The show’s exhibitor categories can help a buyer map the project, but they are not a vetting standard. Assess each provider according to the work they will actually do, and verify important claims independently.

Match the provider to the role
Clarify whether the person is acting as broker, builder, designer, manager, insurer, lawyer, or technical specialist. Ask what is included in the engagement, what is outside its scope, and who is responsible for advice, inspection, execution, and follow-up work.
Check relevant experience
Ask for examples of comparable projects and references, then verify them independently. Experience with a different yacht type, project stage, or jurisdiction may not answer the question you need answered.

Understand incentives and accountability
Ask who pays the intermediary, whose interests they represent, and whether they receive compensation from another party involved in the transaction. Put responsibilities and deliverables in writing, and identify who handles problems if work is delayed, disputed, or incomplete.
Consider the project stage and geography
Buying an existing yacht, commissioning a new build, arranging a charter, and planning a refit involve different decisions. The relevant legal and operational jurisdictions can also differ. Make sure the professional’s experience and advice match both the work and the places involved.

What the show can—and cannot—tell you about trust
The Monaco Yacht Show’s documented value is that it gathers a wide range of specialists around yacht projects, making it possible for visitors to identify and compare participants. The available event figures and exhibitor descriptions do not measure trust, demonstrate that the show creates it, or guarantee the conduct or competence of an individual broker, builder, or service provider. A crowded professional network can make introductions easier; it cannot replace independent checks, clear agreements, or careful decisions about who is accountable for each part of a project.
