What Pichai Said About Google’s Six Business-Facing AI Areas After Alphabet’s $100B Quarter

Alphabet’s first $100 billion quarter was a consolidated revenue milestone. Here’s how Pichai’s Q3 2025 remarks connect Google’s AI infrastructure, research, Cloud, and Gemini offerings.

Alphabet—not Google Cloud or any single product—reported its first-ever $100 billion quarter in Q3 2025. On the October 29, 2025 earnings call, CEO Sundar Pichai described Google’s AI strategy across six areas highlighted by CRN: AI in Search and other products, AI infrastructure, research and models, quantum computing, Google Cloud, and Gemini products for consumers and workplaces. The six-part list is CRN’s framing, not a formal Google product taxonomy.

What the $100 billion figure means

Pichai said Alphabet’s consolidated quarterly revenue topped $100 billion for the first time in Q3 2025. He compared that result with quarterly revenue of $50 billion five years earlier, saying the company’s revenue had doubled. The figure describes Alphabet as a whole; it is not Google Cloud revenue, an AI product’s sales, or a measure of profit.

That distinction matters when interpreting the product discussion: Pichai presented AI as part of a broad company strategy, not as a standalone explanation for the entire revenue milestone. His stated framework was: “Our full stack approach spans AI infrastructure, world class research, including models and tooling, and our products and platforms that bring AI to people everywhere.”

The six areas in CRN’s account

CRN grouped Pichai’s remarks into six business-facing areas. They connect parts of Google’s portfolio, but they are not six equivalent products: some are infrastructure or research capabilities, while others are services and user-facing experiences.

1. AI in Search and Google products

Pichai discussed AI as a force shaping Google’s products broadly. The earnings-call coverage highlighted AI Overviews and AI Mode as Search experiences. Any usage claims associated with those features refer to the Q3 2025 reporting period and should not be treated as current usage figures.

2. AI infrastructure, TPUs, and GPUs

Google’s AI services depend on data-center infrastructure. Pichai discussed Nvidia GPUs alongside Google’s own Tensor Processing Units (TPUs), including the Ironwood generation, as well as GPU instances offered through the cloud. These are infrastructure capabilities for Google’s services and cloud customers, not consumer devices being sold as part of this discussion.

3. AI research, models, and tooling

The research and model layer includes Gemini models and Google’s generative AI research and tools. Pichai’s remarks linked this work to the broader full-stack approach: research develops models and tooling that can then be incorporated into products and platforms. Product names and launch expectations mentioned on the Q3 2025 call describe the situation at that time, not necessarily present-day availability.

4. Quantum computing

Pichai cited Google’s Willow quantum chip and a claimed result from an algorithm comparison. That performance statement is Google’s claim as presented in the remarks; the call itself does not independently establish or validate it. It is a separate research area, not evidence that quantum computing is a currently available business product in the same sense as Google Cloud services.

5. Google Cloud

Google Cloud was presented as an enterprise business offering cloud infrastructure and AI products. Pichai said more than 70% of existing Google Cloud customers used Google’s AI products in Q3 2025. That is a company-reported adoption figure for that period, not an independent market-wide estimate or a claim that 70% of all businesses use Google AI.

6. Gemini for consumers and Gemini Enterprise

The Gemini app and Gemini Enterprise should not be conflated. The app is consumer-facing; Gemini Enterprise is a workplace offering. Pichai reported more than 650 million monthly active users for the Gemini app in Q3 2025. That company-reported, period-specific figure does not describe Gemini Enterprise customers or users.

What the Q3 2025 figures do—and do not—show

Pichai’s remarks included several adoption and activity figures that help convey the scale Google reported at the time. Each is a company-reported Q3 2025 measure, not an independently audited comparison of competing products.

Figure What it describes Qualification
First-ever $100 billion quarter Alphabet consolidated quarterly revenue Q3 2025, as stated by Pichai
$50 billion quarterly revenue Alphabet revenue five years before the Q3 2025 call Pichai’s comparison; he said revenue had doubled since then
Over 1.3 quadrillion tokens per month Tokens processed across Google services Google-reported Q3 2025 figure; Pichai compared it with 980 trillion in July
Over 230 million videos Videos generated with Veo 3 Google-reported figure in the Q3 2025 remarks
More than 13 million developers Developers building with Google’s generative models Google-reported figure in the Q3 2025 remarks
More than 70% Existing Google Cloud customers using Google AI products Google-reported Q3 2025 adoption figure
Over 650 million monthly active users Gemini app Google-reported Q3 2025 figure; consumer app metric

These figures cover different things—revenue, usage, developer activity, and customer adoption—so they cannot be combined into a single measure of AI revenue or business value. They also do not establish how the products compare with alternatives on cost, accuracy, security, or return on investment.

How the six areas fit together

Pichai’s full-stack description offers a useful way to understand why infrastructure, research, and products appeared together in the same earnings discussion. Compute capacity supports training and running models; research produces models and tools; Google can then deliver AI through its own products and through platforms such as Google Cloud. Consumer Gemini and Gemini Enterprise are distinct routes to users, while Cloud serves organizations through enterprise services.

This is a strategic account of how Google connects its capabilities, not a promise that every model or feature is available in every service, region, or business plan. The earnings remarks are not a product-by-product specification or a buyer’s guide.

What to take from the earnings call

  • The $100 billion milestone belongs to Alphabet’s consolidated Q3 2025 revenue, not to an individual AI or cloud product.
  • CRN’s six areas organize Pichai’s remarks; Google did not present them as a formal six-item product category.
  • The figures for tokens, Veo 3 videos, developers, Cloud customer adoption, and Gemini app users are company-reported and tied to Q3 2025.
  • The Gemini app is consumer-facing; Gemini Enterprise is the workplace offering.
  • Google’s full-stack framing connects infrastructure and research to services and products, but does not by itself establish comparative performance or business returns.

In later Q2 2026 remarks, Google continued to highlight Search, Gemini, YouTube, and Cloud. That newer company update provides subsequent context, but it does not independently validate every Q3 2025 figure or claim.
