For example, if a player spends 100 Robux on one of these items in the creator’s experience, the published split leaves 70 Robux with the creator and 30 Robux as Roblox’s fee. A game pass is a one-time purchase; a developer product can be bought repeatedly.
When does the 70/30 split not apply?
The share depends on what is sold, where it is sold, and whose item it is. These distinct arrangements should not be confused with the split for a creator’s own in-game sale.

Another creator’s pass sold in your experience
If a game owner sells another creator’s pass inside their experience, Roblox documents a 10% affiliate fee for the game owner and a 60% share for the original pass creator. That is a different arrangement from selling your own pass. See Roblox’s virtual items documentation.
Avatar items sold through the Marketplace
Avatar Marketplace commissions have their own rules. Roblox lists a base creator share of 30%, with progressive creator revenue shares at higher multiples of an item’s price floor. The documentation also describes additional splits for certain in-game avatar-item sales and resales. Paid access priced in local currency
Paid access in local currency is not a Robux-denominated in-game purchase. Roblox’s published desktop price points give developers a 50%, 60%, or 70% share depending on the price point; taxes and VAT can also affect proceeds. See the paid access documentation.
Other earning methods
Subscriptions, ads, Creator Rewards, and commerce have separate eligibility and payment mechanics. Roblox’s monetization documentation describes these as distinct options, so the 70/30 figure should not be used to calculate every revenue stream.

How much is earned Robux worth in cash?
Robux earned in a game is not automatically cash. DevEx is a separate program for converting eligible Earned Robux after platform earnings accrue, and its exchange rate depends on when and how the Robux was earned.

The standard $0.0038 figure is Roblox’s current stated DevEx rate for eligible earnings in its newer-rate period; it does not mean every Robux balance can be exchanged at that rate. The $0.0054 rate is limited to the stated eligible spending and players, not a general rate for all US users or creators. Roblox documents the standard rate in its Creator Hub DevEx documentation and the dated rate conditions on its DevEx help page.

Which Robux can a creator cash out?
Roblox requires at least 30,000 Earned Robux to request a DevEx cash-out. The balance must also qualify under the program’s rules. Roblox says purchased Robux, gift-card redemptions, subscription grants, and resale proceeds are examples of Robux that do not qualify as Earned Robux; Roblox retains discretion in determining eligibility.
