Where and when did the facility open?
The facility is in Aerospace Park, Adibatla, Hyderabad. TimesTech reported the inauguration on May 19, 2022, describing it as taking place “today”; other reports published the following day said the event had taken place on Thursday. The coverage therefore places the opening in May 2022. Contemporary reports gave the facility’s built-up area as 70,000 square feet.
Dr G. Satheesh Reddy, then identified as Secretary of the Department of Defence R&D and Chairman of DRDO, inaugurated the facility.
What did SKM Technologies say the facility could do?
In the inauguration coverage, managing director Sarita Rathibandla described equipment and operations intended for aerospace and defense component manufacturing. These are company statements reported at the time, rather than independent performance tests or a current inventory.

Machining and workpiece capacity
Rathibandla listed five-, four- and three-axis vertical machining centres (VMCs), horizontal machining centre (HMC) turning centres, and machine beds as large as five metres. She also described capacity for jobs up to eight metres. The reports do not specify the exact measurement axis or operating conditions for those dimensions.
Inspection and controlled environments
The equipment description included a Carl Zeiss coordinate measuring machine (CMM), for which Rathibandla cited an accuracy of 0.7 microns. The figure is her reported specification in the 2022 coverage; it should not be read as an independently verified measurement. The facility was also described as having 1,000-class cleanrooms.

The announced scope included critical assembly operations, specialized welding and special-treatment processes, alongside manufacturing and inspection. The reports do not provide process-by-process specifications or establish which services remain available today.
Which organizations were named in the 2022 coverage?
Coverage described SKM Technologies as a maker of high-precision aerospace and defense components and assemblies. What follow-up recognition was reported?
A December 2022 report said HAL’s Aircraft Division recognized SKM Technologies as Best Supplier. That is later context about the company, but it does not independently establish the facility’s present status or capabilities.

What did the inauguration say about government support?
At the opening, Reddy said: “Private industry can access government test systems and facilities for strengthening Indian defence industries.” The statement reflects his remarks as reported in 2022; it is not a detailed account of current access rules or a guarantee that a particular company can use a specific test facility.
