Lite-on, Inc., a subsidiary of Lite-On Technology, signed a construction contract for a building project in McKinney, Texas, with a reported value of up to $348 million. That is a reported contract ceiling—not confirmation that $348 million has been paid, that it is the final cost, or that construction is complete.
What the $348 million figure means
Investing.com reported on October 8, 2026, that the contract value was disclosed in a Taiwan Stock Exchange filing. The report says the final amount will depend on actual settlement, but it does not give a settled figure. The distinction matters: “up to” describes a maximum reported value, not a confirmed final bill or cash payment. Investing.com’s report

What the announcement confirms
- Contracting subsidiary: Lite-on, Inc., identified as a Lite-On Technology subsidiary.
- Project location: McKinney, Texas.
- Reported contract ceiling: Up to $348 million.
- Disclosure channel: A Taiwan Stock Exchange filing, as reported by Investing.com.
What it does not establish
The report describes a building project and construction contract. It does not say what the building will be used for or establish that the $348 million includes manufacturing equipment. Nor does it provide the building’s dimensions, detailed construction scope, contractor’s identity, completion date, or expected economic impact.

Those conclusions would require project details that are not in the report.

Contract ceiling versus final amount
| Measure | What is known |
|---|---|
| Reported ceiling | Up to $348 million, according to Investing.com’s October 8, 2026 report of the Taiwan Stock Exchange filing. |
| Final settled amount | Not stated in the report; it says the amount depends on actual settlement. |
A construction contract’s maximum reported value should not be treated as a completed investment figure. The available report does not break down costs or explain how settlement will determine the final amount.
What remains unknown
The report does not answer what the McKinney building will house, what work the contract covers, who will perform the construction, how settlement is calculated, when the project is scheduled to finish, or what the final amount will be. Those details would need to come from the underlying filing or a later company disclosure.
