TheStreet’s October 15, 2010 recap records Jim Cramer calling Enterprise Products Partners (NYSE: EPD) a “screaming, screaming buy”—not saying it was “a really well-run company.” That old comment was an opinion about the units at the time, not a current recommendation. Enterprise’s July 2026 results provide more recent company-reported context, but they do not establish whether EPD is right for any particular investor.
What did Jim Cramer say about Enterprise Products Partners?
In a recap of a 2010 Mad Money lightning round, TheStreet staff writer Scott Rutt attributed this statement to Cramer: “Yes! Even up here I think this company is a screaming, screaming buy. More viewers have made money with this than any other stock other than Apple.” TheStreet’s October 15, 2010 recap does not verify the phrase “a really well-run company” as his wording. The historical quote should not be recast as a verbatim statement.
Cramer’s comment was an enthusiastic investment opinion made in 2010. It is not evidence of what he thinks about EPD today, nor a forecast of future returns.
What does Enterprise Products Partners do?
Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is a publicly traded midstream energy partnership. It connects producers and consumers of natural gas, natural gas liquids (NGLs), crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals through services such as gathering, treating, processing, transportation, storage and marine terminals. It also provides marine transportation.

In its February 27, 2026 announcement of its 2025 Form 10-K, Enterprise described its system as comprising more than 50,000 miles of pipelines, over 300 million barrels of storage capacity for NGLs, crude oil, petrochemicals and refined products, and 14 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage capacity. What did EPD report in the second quarter of 2026?
Enterprise’s July 30, 2026 earnings release reported these results for the quarter. The figures and characterizations below are the company’s, not an independent assessment.

Enterprise defines Operational DCF as a supplemental non-GAAP measure and describes it as cash generated from normal operations that is available for distribution. Coverage compares that measure with distributions declared; it is not, by itself, a guarantee that distributions will continue or that the units are attractively valued. The release also quoted A. J. “Jim” Teague, co-chief executive officer of Enterprise’s general partner, saying the company reported “strong volumes, earnings and cash flow” for the quarter. No single quarter’s results settle that question. The reported earnings, cash flow, coverage and volumes describe performance in Q2 2026; they do not establish a future return, distribution safety, fair value or suitability for an individual investor. The 2010 Cramer quote is still less useful as a present-day decision rule.

Anyone assessing EPD alongside other midstream partnerships can compare:
- Cash generation and distributions: Use consistent periods and definitions for cash flow and coverage, and distinguish company-defined non-GAAP measures from standardized financial statements.
- Debt and liquidity: Consider financing obligations and available liquidity alongside reported cash flow.
- Capital needs: Separate sustaining spending needed to maintain existing assets from growth spending, and assess whether projects are completed on schedule and budget.
- Volumes and utilization: Look at throughput trends, capacity use and the mix of services rather than relying on a single record-volume figure.
- Business and market exposure: Consider fee-based versus commodity-sensitive activities, customer and geographic concentration, regulatory conditions and broader market risks.
The cited company releases provide EPD-specific reported figures, not a current side-by-side valuation of competing partnerships. Comparing one coverage ratio or distribution figure across companies without matching definitions and periods can mislead.
