Perth-based influencer Jacquie Alexander said she found an unauthorised charge of about AUD $5,000 after a night out at a Paris club. That is her reported account—not an independently established finding of theft, drink spiking or who was responsible. The venues have not been named in the reporting reviewed.

What did Jacquie Alexander say happened?

In a TikTok recounting the night, Alexander said a man whom staff at a rooftop bar appeared to know encouraged her group to visit his club. At the club, one of her friends was told their shorts did not meet the dress code and bought pants from a shop inside. Alexander said the pants cost about AUD $400, and that the group believed they would pay only for those pants. She also said the man offered drinks and a table.

Alexander said she could not remember parts of the night and woke feeling anxious. She said she later found a club charge of about AUD $5,000 that she had not authorised. These are amounts and events as reported from her account, not independently verified transaction details.

What is known—and what has not been established?

PerthNow reported the account on 26 August 2024. It also said Alexander suspected the rooftop bar was involved, but its report supplied no independent evidence for that suspicion. Neither the club nor the rooftop bar was identified in the reporting reviewed.

The report said Alexander and her friends later found negative reviews, including other reviewers’ claims of similar experiences. Those claims are second-hand accounts in the article; they do not independently establish drink spiking, theft or a pattern of misconduct. indy100 also recounted Alexander’s story, but that is secondary reporting, not an official finding.

  • The reporting does not establish that Alexander was drugged or that a crime occurred.
  • It does not report whether she disputed the charge with her bank, received a refund, or whether police or another authority investigated.
  • No venue representative, official or regulator is quoted in the central report.

When did the incident take place?

PerthNow’s account situates the night during Alexander’s Europe trip around the 2024 Olympic Games. A 29 July 2024 PerthNow report said she was in Paris while her partner, Australian hockey player Nathan Ephraums, competed at the Games. The incident report also says the trip followed the group’s recent engagement celebrations in Tuscany. This background gives timing, but does not verify the reported charge.

What advice did Alexander give travellers?

As quoted by PerthNow, Alexander advised travellers to keep drinks covered, know where their friends are and go out with trusted companions. She said: “When you’re travelling please be careful, please make sure your friends know where you are at all times, please make sure you’re with a good group of people that have your back like I was.”

Keeping a drink covered may be one optional personal precaution, but it cannot guarantee that a drink is safe and would not prevent an unauthorised card charge. Her advice should not be taken as evidence that a drink was tampered with in this incident.
