McDonald’s new menu item is McCrispy Strips, launched in the U.S. with Creamy Chili Dip. McDonald’s USA announced the strips on April 24, 2025, describing them as a permanent U.S. menu item and saying they would be available at participating restaurants nationwide by May 5, 2025. Availability and prices can vary by location.
What are McCrispy Strips?
McDonald’s describes McCrispy Strips as 100% white-meat chicken with crispy, golden-brown breading flavored with black pepper. The launch pairing, Creamy Chili Dip, is described by the company as savory, sweet, and tangy. These are the company’s product descriptions, not an independent taste review.
The launch announcement listed two serving sizes:

When did McDonald’s launch them?
The launch followed a reported 2024 test at seven McDonald’s locations in Hickory, North Carolina. On February 13, 2025, an article about the then-upcoming chicken strips said McDonald’s had confirmed a new offering for 2025 but had not announced a date. McDonald’s USA announced McCrispy Strips and Creamy Chili Dip on April 24, 2025, with availability at participating restaurants nationwide by May 5.

At launch, McDonald’s called the strips a permanent U.S. menu item. Subsequent menu information has also shown them in other offerings, including sauces and wraps; individual restaurant menus may change.
How can you order McCrispy Strips?
McDonald’s said customers could order at participating locations through the McDonald’s app, in restaurants, via McDelivery, or at the drive-thru. Check your local restaurant’s menu or the app for current availability and ordering options.

What do McCrispy Strips cost?
The only specific price established here is historical: the February 2025 article reported that a three-piece serving cost $4.99 during the 2024 Hickory test. That was a local test price, not a nationwide launch price or a current price. McDonald’s launch announcement did not establish a national price, so check your local menu for the amount you would pay.

In the February 2025 article, then-U.S. CEO Chris Kempczinski said: “We’re excited about the significant opportunity we see within our chicken portfolio and see the potential to add another point of chicken market share by the end of 2026,” The statement described a future business ambition; it should not be read as evidence that McDonald’s achieved that result.
