What is the Chicken Big Mac?
McDonald’s USA described the sandwich as two tempura-battered chicken patties in place of the Big Mac’s two all-beef patties, with familiar Big Mac toppings. The U.S. announcement did not provide a more detailed ingredient list or say the patties are Chicken McNuggets.
So the “giant nugget sandwich” label captures the breaded-chicken idea, but it should be read as an analogy. The official U.S. wording is “chicken patties.” McDonald’s announced the U.S. item on October 3, 2024, and said it would begin at participating restaurants on October 10 while supplies lasted. No end date was stated in that announcement.
Is the Chicken Big Mac available in the U.S. now?
The October 2024 announcement only confirms a limited-time U.S. offer beginning that month; it does not confirm availability on October 3, 2026. McDonald’s current U.S. chicken-and-fish menu page also does not establish whether a particular restaurant has the sandwich. Check the menu in the McDonald’s app or on the local restaurant listing for live availability before setting out.

Availability has varied by country and date. For example, McDonald’s Canada announced its own limited-time version in March 2023, while McDonald’s Australia included the sandwich in a limited-time-offer nutrition document marked correct as at December 2025. Those listings are not evidence that the U.S. offer has returned.
How does it differ by country?
The name does not guarantee an identical recipe in every market. Official descriptions document differences in how the chicken is characterized and what details are provided:

That is not a complete or necessarily applicable allergen declaration for other countries. Consult the current ingredient and allergen information for the restaurant and market where you plan to order. McDonald’s USA warns that shared preparation areas, equipment, and utensils can create a risk of cross-contact.
