Binance announced GUNZ (GUN) as a Launchpool project on March 27, 2025, with farming scheduled for March 28–30 and spot trading scheduled to begin March 31. Those are historical launch details, not confirmation of current exchange availability.
GUN, GUNZ and Off The Grid: what’s the difference?
- GUN is the token.
- GUNZ is Gunzilla’s blockchain ecosystem, which the company describes as an EVM-compatible Layer 1 built using Avalanche technology and its own validator set.
- Off The Grid is the flagship game associated with GUNZ.
Gunzilla and Binance describe GUN as a utility and governance token for the ecosystem. That describes intended functions; it is not a guarantee of token value, investment return or any particular game feature. Gunzilla’s materials also characterize some crypto and NFT features as optional, so the token should not be treated as a requirement for all gameplay.

- Buying Off The Grid marketplace NFT items, customization items and expendables.
- Paying for subscriptions and Battle Passes.
- HEX decoding, resale commissions and other in-game fees.
These are uses attributed to the project and exchange materials, not evidence that every item or feature is available to every player in every region. Utility does not establish a market price or make GUN a low-risk asset.
When did Binance announce and schedule GUN trading?
Binance’s March 27, 2025 announcement made GUNZ its 66th Launchpool project. It set out this original schedule:

Binance stated a total and maximum supply of 10 billion GUN. It applied its Seed Tag to GUN at launch and cautioned that its products and services may not be available in every region. These figures and terms describe the 2025 launch announcement; they do not establish current trading pairs, regional eligibility or availability on Binance today. In that announcement, Binance warned: “Any claims to offer the token(s) for sale before the stated timeline are likely to be false advertising.” That warning referred to offers ahead of the original March 2025 launch schedule; it is not a current assessment of any particular seller.

What is known about the GUNZ network and its rollout?
Gunzilla’s official site describes GUNZ as an EVM-compatible Layer 1 built using Avalanche technology, with its own validator set, and provides network configuration, a mainnet explorer and a bridge. In a migration diary dated June 12, 2025, Gunzilla said it was working with an initial cohort of early adopters on mainnet and described a staged migration process.
The site’s status wording is mixed: it says “GUNZ Mainnet is undergoing final preparations for our launch,” while also offering an “EXPLORE MAINNET” link and mainnet tools. The available statements establish documented infrastructure and previously reported early-adopter work, but not the current scale of player migration or broad availability of every product feature.

Binance Research reported more than 14 million unique wallets, more than 440 million transactions and a peak of more than 900,000 daily active wallets for the project’s testnet. Those are ecosystem testnet figures reported in 2025, not independently audited player counts or a measure of current activity. The Binance announcement confirms that spot trading was scheduled to start on March 31, 2025, in the four pairs it named. It does not verify which exchanges or pairs support GUN now, or whether Binance trading is available to a particular customer. Check the exchange’s current asset page and your region’s eligibility before relying on historical launch information.

Is a wallet required to play Off The Grid?
No wallet requirement for gameplay is established by the cited guidance. Gunzilla says users can add GUNZ to MetaMask and use a Ledger hardware wallet for additional security. That is an optional self-custody setup, not a stated prerequisite for playing. The guidance does not identify a Ledger model, so confirm current compatibility before choosing hardware.
