EA’s public financial results do not identify a single most-profitable game. The company reports some results at the company or franchise level, but the figures available here do not compare profit by individual title. EA’s American Football franchise exceeded $1 billion in net bookings in FY25; that is a franchise-wide bookings figure, not profit from one game.
Why EA’s disclosures can’t name a most-profitable game
To rank games by profitability, EA would need to disclose comparable profit figures for individual titles over the same period. Its FY26 results report company-wide financial outcomes and selected franchise highlights, but no title-by-title profit comparison. As a result, the available disclosures do not establish whether a particular EA game is the most profitable.
That distinction matters because a popular game, a best seller, or a franchise with rising bookings is not necessarily the title with the highest profit. The measures and scopes have to match before they can support a ranking.
What the reported figures mean
American Football: more than $1 billion in FY25 net bookings
EA said its American Football franchise exceeded $1 billion in net bookings in FY25. This is the largest clear game-related figure in the cited results, but it covers a franchise rather than a single game and measures bookings rather than profit. It cannot establish which title, if any, generated the most profit.

EA defines net bookings as the net amount of products and services sold digitally or sold in physically during a period. For online-enabled games, it calculates bookings by adding net revenue to the change in deferred net revenue. Bookings are therefore not a synonym for profit: the figure does not, by itself, show the costs attributable to a game or the amount left after those costs.
College Football 25: a sales ranking, not a profit ranking
In its FY25 Q2 results, released October 29, 2024, EA said College Football 25 was the best-selling HD title in North America through September 2024. That statement describes a regional sales ranking over a specified period. It does not disclose the game’s profit or compare its profitability with other EA titles.

The Sims 4: player growth and franchise bookings
EA reported that more than 15 million players joined The Sims 4 over the year before its FY25 Q2 release. The company also said increased engagement drove higher-than-expected net bookings for The Sims franchise in that quarter. Those are player and franchise-bookings indicators—not a title-level profit figure.
Current momentum is not a profit comparison
EA’s FY26 results noted positive momentum in Global Football and Apex Legends. That provides current context about those franchises, but growth or momentum does not reveal absolute profit by individual game. A franchise can be growing without being the company’s most profitable title.

How to read claims about EA’s most profitable game
- Check the measure. Profit, revenue, and net bookings are different financial concepts. A bookings figure cannot stand in for profit.
- Check the scope. A franchise total is not a result for one game. Be wary of turning a figure covering multiple releases or services into a claim about a single title.
- Check the period. Annual, quarterly, and lifetime figures cannot be ranked fairly without comparable time frames.
- Check the evidence. A company financial disclosure, a sales ranking, and a player-count update answer different questions. None should be presented as title-level profit unless it actually reports that measure.
What can be concluded
The defensible answer is that EA’s cited public results do not reveal its most-profitable individual game. The FY25 American Football franchise figure is evidence of substantial bookings at franchise level, while the College Football 25, The Sims 4, Global Football, and Apex Legends updates describe sales, engagement, or momentum. None supplies the comparable title-level profit data needed to name a winner.
