What Happened to Haliey Welch After the HAWK Token Crash?

Haliey Welch’s public activity declined after the HAWK token crash, but she posted a cooperation statement in December 2024 and her podcast reportedly returned in April 2025. Investor allegations and the reported SEC closure are separate from any court finding in the private lawsuit.

Haliey Welch did not literally vanish after the HAWK token’s December 2024 collapse: she posted a statement on December 20 saying she was cooperating with lawyers for affected people, and her podcast reportedly returned in April 2025. But her public activity was reduced in the period after the crash. Investors sued over the token, and later reporting described an attempt to add Welch and others to the case; those accusations have not been established as court findings.

What happened to the HAWK token?

The $HAWK token launched on the Solana blockchain on December 4, 2024. Contemporary reports described a sharp rise in its market capitalization shortly after launch, followed by a steep fall within hours. They did not agree on the peak, so the figures should be treated as separate estimates rather than combined into one definitive valuation.

Source Reported peak and decline What the figure represents
Wolf Popper LLP, 2024 $491 million, followed by a decline of more than 90% within hours The law firm’s summary of the complaint; not a court finding or an independently established market value.
The Block, 2024 Around $400 million, followed by a 90% decline A separate outlet estimate; it does not confirm or correct Wolf Popper’s figure.

The differing estimates matter: there is no single peak figure established by the reporting summarized here. A rapid price collapse is also not, by itself, proof of fraud or a legal “rug pull.”

Why did investors sue?

On December 19, 2024, investor plaintiffs filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. They alleged that $HAWK was promoted and sold as an unregistered security in violation of federal securities law. The complaint stated that “The $HAWK Token exhibits all the characteristics of an unregistered security under established legal precedent.” That is the plaintiffs’ position, not a ruling by the court.

The filing is a procedural fact; the claims in it are allegations. The material available here does not establish a court decision on the merits, nor does it establish that Welch committed fraud or that a court found the token to be an unregistered security.

Did Haliey Welch disappear after the crash?

“Disappeared from public view” is too absolute. On December 20, The Block reported Welch’s first post on X in nearly two weeks. In that post, she said: “I am fully cooperating with and am committed to assisting the legal team representing the individuals impacted, as well as to help uncover the truth, hold the responsible parties accountable and resolve this matter.” The statement expressed cooperation; it was not an admission of wrongdoing.

There was a period of reduced public activity after the token’s crash, but later coverage reported that her podcast, Talk Tuah, returned in April 2025. Her whereabouts and public activity as of October 2026 have not been independently verified here, so it would be inaccurate to claim either that she remains absent or that she has returned to a particular level of public life.

What later legal developments were reported?

In November 2025, Protos reported that Burwick Law had sought permission to amend the complaint to add Welch, her manager Johnnie Forster, and 16 Minutes LLC. Protos described the proposed amended filing as alleging an agreement involving $125,000 upfront and another $200,000 tied to promotional milestones.

Those reported payment terms and the underlying accusations are allegations in a proposed amended filing, not established payments, proof of liability, or a court finding. Seeking leave to amend is also not the same as a court granting the request. The later procedural status of the private case was not independently verified after June 2026.

What did the reported SEC closure mean?

A June 2026 legal explainer said Welch’s attorney announced in March 2025 that the SEC had closed its investigation of Welch without findings against her or monetary sanctions. The statement is reported through that explainer; it is not a directly reviewed SEC document.

The reported closure concerned the SEC investigation involving Welch. It did not decide the separate private investor lawsuit. The two matters have different parties and procedures, so the reported end of one investigation should not be read as a court resolution of the investors’ claims.

Question SEC investigation involving Welch Private investor lawsuit
Who was involved? The SEC and Welch; the reported closure was announced by her attorney. Investor plaintiffs and defendants named in the civil case.
What was reported? A June 2026 explainer said the SEC investigation closed in March 2025 without findings against Welch or monetary sanctions. Investors filed a complaint in December 2024 alleging securities-law violations; in November 2025, Protos reported that counsel sought leave to add Welch and others.
Does this establish the lawsuit’s outcome? No. The reported SEC closure is separate from the civil case. No merits ruling or later status after June 2026 is established here.
