In 2024, Macca’s sold limited-edition Grimace and McNugget Buddies merchandise ahead of McHappy Day, with McDonald’s Australia saying 100 percent of the items’ profits would go to Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). The range was offered nationwide, including Perth, from October 16 while stocks lasted; the announced prices were $5.95 for socks and $9.95 for a reversible bucket hat.
What merchandise was available, and what did it cost?
The 2024 range comprised three items. McDonald’s Australia listed the prices below; they are campaign-era prices, not confirmation of current availability.

Did the money go to charity?
McDonald’s Australia said 100 percent of the merchandise profits would go to RMHC. That means the stated donation was profits, not necessarily the full retail price or gross sales revenue. RMHC’s programs named in the announcement included Ronald McDonald Houses, Family Rooms, Family Retreats, Hospitality Carts and the Learning Program.

When and where could customers buy it?
The merchandise was part of the 2024 McHappy Day campaign, ahead of McHappy Day on November 16. McDonald’s said sales began October 16, while stocks lasted, at restaurants nationwide through drive-thru, kiosks and front counters, as well as the MyMacca’s app and McDelivery. These dates and channels describe the historical campaign; the sources do not establish that the items are still available.
How this fitted into McHappy Day 2024
Merchandise was one part of the campaign. McDonald’s Australia also described Helping Hands, direct donations and a $2 contribution from each Big Mac sold on McHappy Day. Those were specific 2024 campaign terms, not a current offer.

The company said McHappy Day raised more than $6.4 million in 2023, helping RMHC provide more than 40,000 nights of a home away from home. Its 2024 release gives conflicting cumulative totals: the body says over $67 million across 32 years, while its fast facts say more than $72 million since 1991. PerthNow also reported more than $72 million. Because the figures conflict within the primary release, neither should be treated as a settled cumulative total.

Current availability is not established. A later McDonald’s Australia release covered a separate 2025 McHappy Day merchandise campaign with different terms; it does not show that the 2024 Grimace socks or hat remain for sale. A third-party resale listing, if encountered, also does not by itself establish authenticity or a donation to RMHC.
