What Expensive Things Has Chris Rock Bought? The Homes Publicly Reported

Reports document three homes connected to Chris Rock, but their original purchase prices are largely unavailable—so a ranked top ten would be misleading.

Public reporting does not establish ten expensive things Chris Rock has bought, or a reliable ranking of his purchases. It documents three homes connected to him: a Brooklyn carriage house he bought in 1994 and later sold, an Alpine, New Jersey, home reportedly bought in 2001, and a Los Angeles place he said he recently bought in a 2026 interview. None of the available reports gives a verified original purchase price for any of the three.

Why a top-10 ranking is not supported

The available reporting covers real estate, not a verified inventory of Rock’s possessions. It does not establish ten purchases with comparable original prices. Listing prices, mortgages, and resale prices cannot fill that gap: each describes a different financial figure and none, by itself, reveals what Rock originally paid.

Rock’s 2026 interview with Variety also does not point to a fleet of luxury purchases. He said, “I don’t own a car” and “I don’t own a boat.” He also said, “I’m not on jets all the time,” which does not establish whether he has ever owned or chartered an aircraft.

The three homes documented in public reporting

Brooklyn carriage house: bought in 1994, later sold

Mansion Global reported in 2017 that Rock bought a three-story carriage house in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, in 1994, when he was newly famous and starring on Saturday Night Live. The report did not establish his original purchase price.

The property’s $3.85 million figure was its asking price when it was listed in 2017—not the price Rock paid in 1994. Mansion Global also reported two mortgages of about $300,000 each in the 1990s; mortgage amounts are not proof of a home’s purchase price. Its report said listing records dating from 2009 showed the home rented for approximately $8,000 to $15,000, without establishing a current rental figure.

Realtor.com reported in 2026 that Rock sold the Brooklyn home for $3.25 million in 2022. That is a later sale price, not his original purchase price. Realtor.com describes the property as a 3,700-square-foot carriage house.

Alpine, New Jersey: reported purchase in 2001

Realtor.com reported in 2026 that Rock bought a Colonial-style home in Alpine in 2001. The report describes it as 10,300 square feet, on more than two acres, but does not state what he paid. Those property dimensions indicate scale, not a verified purchase value.

Los Angeles: a recent purchase, with no price disclosed

In a 2026 interview with Variety, Rock said, “I just bought a place there, so I winter in L.A.” The interview does not identify the home’s address or size, or disclose its price. In the same conversation, Rock mentioned homes listed near The Ivy for $30 million to $40 million as examples; those were not identified as his purchase.

What the reported figures do—and do not—show

Property and reported event Figure What it means
Brooklyn carriage house, bought in 1994 Original price not established; Mansion Global (2017) The report gives the purchase year, not a verified amount paid.
Brooklyn mortgages in the 1990s About $300,000 each; Mansion Global (2017) Two reported mortgage amounts, not the purchase price.
Brooklyn listing in 2017 $3.85 million asking price; Mansion Global (2017) The advertised price at that time, not the 1994 purchase price.
Brooklyn sale in 2022 $3.25 million sale price; Realtor.com (2026) A later sale price, not what Rock originally paid.
Alpine home, bought in 2001 Price not stated; Realtor.com (2026) The report provides purchase year and property dimensions, but no price.
Los Angeles place, described in 2026 Price not stated; Variety (2026) Rock said he had bought a place; the interview gives no identifying details or price.

What can be concluded about Rock’s spending

The reporting supports a limited real-estate profile, not a “most expensive things” list. It documents purchase years and some property details, but not comparable original prices. Without those prices—and without a verified list of other purchases—ranking ten items would create a false sense of precision.

Rock offered a personal-finance perspective in the Variety interview: “Your monthly nut — that’s your religion. You think you’re Catholic? How much are your monthly bills? Because if you can keep your monthly low enough, you can say no to things.” It is a comment about managing recurring commitments, not evidence about the costs of these homes.
