1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThe Nintendo Switch 2 system has a U.S. manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $499.99, effective September 1, 2026. That is $50 more than its U.S. launch MSRP in 2025. MSRP is Nintendo’s suggested system price, not a promise that every retailer charges the same amount.
Current U.S. Switch 2 price
Nintendo of America raised the system’s U.S. MSRP from $449.99 to $499.99 on September 1, 2026. Nintendo attributed the change to “various changes in market conditions, which are expected to extend over the medium to long term.” That is Nintendo’s stated rationale, not an independent analysis of what caused the increase. Nintendo’s May 7, 2026 price notice announced the revision.

How the U.S. price changed
| Date | Price and status | What it means |
|---|---|---|

The launch bundle’s $499.99 price is historical. It should not be mistaken for the current price of the system alone or assumed to describe what a bundle costs now.

How to compare a bundle with the console-only price
A bundle’s total price and the console-only MSRP are different measures. A package can cost more overall because it includes a game; whether it offers value depends on the current price and whether you would buy the included game separately.
GamesRadar reported two newer U.S. bundles in October 2026 at $549.99 and $529.99, with different announced shelf timing. Those are dated secondary reports, not Nintendo’s system-only MSRP or a guarantee of a current deal. Check the retailer’s live price, availability and exact contents before comparing them with the $499.99 console-only price. GamesRadar’s bundle coverage.

What console price history can—and cannot—tell you
The documented U.S. history offers a clear comparison: Switch 2 launched at a $449.99 system MSRP in 2025, then moved to $499.99 in September 2026. That records a $50 increase; it does not predict whether Nintendo or retailers will change prices again.
Comparing Nintendo systems across generations requires care. Launch packages may differ in included games or accessories, and a nominal price is not the same as an inflation-adjusted estimate. Nintendo Life’s historical comparison notes those package and inflation caveats, but without a stated adjustment method and comparison date, an adjusted figure should not be treated as a like-for-like price. The console price does not establish the cost of accessories, and older Switch accessories should not be assumed to work with Switch 2. Check the compatibility of the specific item against Nintendo Support’s Switch 2 and Switch compatibility information before buying.
