The first-season winners of Netflix’s Building the Band, 3Quency, receive a $500,000 cash prize shared evenly by members Nori, Brianna, and Wennely. Executive producer Cat Lawson says the money has no spending restrictions and the group is not required to sign with a label or management company chosen by the show.

How much does 3Quency win?

The band’s total prize is $500,000, divided equally among its three members. That works out to approximately $166,666.67 per person before any applicable taxes or other personal financial obligations. Netflix’s official season-one FAQ, published July 16, 2025, identifies the award as a cash prize shared evenly; it does not explain tax treatment or payment timing.

Can the winners choose how to use the money?

Yes. Lawson says the winners can use the cash for their careers or personal lives, as they choose: “They can spend it on whatever they want, whether that’s for their career or for their lives, whatever.” The official explanation describes the award as unrestricted cash rather than money earmarked for a particular purchase or career expense.

Does winning require a record deal?

Lawson says the band is not required to sign with a label or management company selected by the show: “They don’t have to sign to a particular label decided by us or a management company.” This addresses a show-imposed signing requirement; it does not establish whether the members may pursue other agreements independently.

Who are the winners?

Netflix Tudum’s post-finale cast coverage identifies 3Quency’s members as Nori, Brianna, and Wennely.

Is there an additional physical prize?

The official prize explanation identifies cash and names no bundled physical item. It does not establish that the winners receive instruments, recording equipment, merchandise, or a record deal as part of the award.
