For a Venmo Debit Card withdrawal, Venmo identifies MoneyPass ATMs in the United States as the no-cost option. The ATM owner may still charge a surcharge, so review the fee shown on the screen before accepting. You’ll need your Venmo Debit Card, its PIN, and enough money in your Venmo balance.

Which ATM is free for Venmo?

Use an ATM displaying the MoneyPass mark. Venmo says MoneyPass withdrawals within the U.S. are available at no cost. Its debit-card usage guidance also refers to some U.S. territories, but it does not name them, so confirm eligibility rather than assuming the U.S. policy applies everywhere.

Venmo’s broader ATM acceptance information also mentions Mastercard, PULSE, and Cirrus marks. Those marks do not mean a machine is fee-free: Venmo’s no-cost statement is specifically for MoneyPass ATMs. Look for the MoneyPass mark and check the ATM’s fee disclosure before proceeding. Venmo’s ATM cash withdrawal fee information and debit card usage guidance explain the network and fee details.

What fees can apply at other ATMs?

Venmo’s current fee FAQ, accessed in 2026, lists a $2.50 fee per domestic ATM withdrawal at other ATMs. The ATM owner or bank may charge an additional fee. For international ATM withdrawals, Venmo lists a $2.50 fee, and the ATM owner or bank may also add a charge; Venmo does not describe those withdrawals as free. Review the fee shown on the terminal before confirming any withdrawal.

What do you need to withdraw cash?

  • A Venmo Debit Card and its PIN are required for an ATM withdrawal.
  • The withdrawal must be funded from your Venmo balance. Venmo says ATM withdrawals, over-the-counter withdrawals, and point-of-sale cashback can only use balance funds.
  • Make sure your available balance covers the cash you want to withdraw. The balance requirement is described in Venmo’s balance guidance.

Can you get cash back without using an ATM?

Venmo says cash back with a purchase can be a no-cost cash-access option when the point-of-sale terminal and merchant accept Maestro or PULSE. Acceptance varies by retailer, and you must have enough money in your Venmo balance. Ask the cashier or check the terminal before relying on cashback; not every merchant offers it.

Can you move the balance to a bank instead?

If you would rather not withdraw cash at an ATM or make a purchase to get cashback, Venmo says you can transfer a balance to a linked bank account or debit card. See Venmo’s instructions for transferring money to a bank account for the available transfer options.
