There is no single defensible top 10 unless “private jet” and “price” are defined. A purpose-built business jet’s equipped-aircraft price is not comparable to an estimated budget for buying and converting a widebody airliner into a bespoke VIP aircraft. On a consistent 2025 equipped-price basis, the Gulfstream G700 leads the business jets in the available figures at $82 million; some airliner-derived VIP projects carry estimates several times higher, but those are not verified sale prices for completed private jets.
How to interpret a 2025 private-jet price ranking
The comparable figures below are nominal U.S. dollars from Aviation Week / Business & Commercial Aviation’s Q1 2025 Purchase Planning Handbook. They are equipped-aircraft planning prices, not necessarily the final price of every aircraft after bespoke cabin work, delivery-specific options, or other customization.
Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJ) aircraft are derived from airliners, and their cabin completion can be a separate, highly customized project. Estimates for VIP conversions of widebody airliners may include the aircraft, design, engineering, cabin installation, communications, and modifications. They therefore belong in a separate category rather than in the same unqualified ranking as equipped business jets.
Purpose-built business jets: the comparable 2025 figures
These are the four highest-priced purpose-built business jets among the comparable figures reported by Aviation Week / BCA for Q1 2025. The order reflects those published equipped prices, not a claim that they are the four most expensive aircraft in every possible configuration.

| Rank | Aircraft | 2025 equipped price | Price source and basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Gulfstream G700 | $82 million | Aviation Week / BCA, Q1 2025 Purchase Planning Handbook; equipped price. |
| 2 | Bombardier Global 8000 | $81 million | Aviation Week / BCA, Q1 2025 Purchase Planning Handbook; equipped price. |
| 3 | Bombardier Global 7500 | $78 million | Aviation Week / BCA, Q1 2025 Purchase Planning Handbook; equipped price. |
| 4 | Gulfstream G800 | $76.5 million | Aviation Week / BCA, Q1 2025 Purchase Planning Handbook; equipped price. |
The same Q1 2025 table also lists the Dassault Falcon 6X at $57.1 million, the Gulfstream G500 at $50.75 million, and the Bombardier Global 5500 at $47.9 million. These help show how far the top four sit above other purpose-built aircraft in that table, but do not make the list a complete inventory of every available jet.
Airliner-derived and VIP aircraft: a separate price picture
Some airliner-derived aircraft appear in the same planning table, but their figures should not be read as the cost of a finished, individually commissioned VIP cabin. Aviation Week / BCA lists the Airbus ACJ320neo at $117 million and the ACJ TwoTwenty at $82 million as equipped aircraft. Cabin-completion status and custom work matter when comparing those values with bespoke VIP project estimates.

For widebody VIP projects, JetFinder reports estimates rather than verified transaction prices. Its published figures are useful as an indication of potential project scale, not as a confirmed value for a delivered aircraft.
| Aircraft or project | Published figure | What the figure represents |
|---|---|---|
| Airbus A380 VIP project | Up to $500–600 million | JetFinder estimate for a VIP conversion project; not a confirmed sale price or evidence of a completed $600 million private jet. |
| Boeing 747-8 VIP | Approximately $350–450 million | JetFinder estimated project value; actual completion specification and cost are not public. |
| Airbus ACJ350 | Approximately $320–450+ million | JetFinder estimate; final value depends on the completion configuration. |
JetFinder notes that actual transactions and completion expenses are often private. It also reports that the well-known A380 VIP project linked to Prince Al Waleed was reportedly sold before delivery to the original buyer. That history is another reason not to present the widely circulated A380 estimate as a confirmed price for a completed aircraft.

Why “the 10 most expensive” does not produce one reliable list
- The categories differ. A purpose-built business jet and a former airliner undergoing a bespoke VIP conversion are not the same kind of price comparison.
- The price basis differs. An equipped-aircraft planning figure does not necessarily include custom completion or every buyer-specific option.
- VIP project budgets are estimates. Public estimates do not establish a completed-aircraft sale price, and private deal terms may not be disclosed.
- Price lists have dates and specifications. Later figures should not be backdated into a 2025 ranking. For example, CRAFT’s page, checked October 5, 2026, gives 2026 “typically equipped” prices for in-production purpose-built jets and excludes converted airliners, custom interiors, and operating costs. It lists the Global 8000 at $85 million, the G700 at $84.9 million, and the G800 at $80.4 million. Those are later figures, not 2025 prices.
Other databases can use different vintages or specifications: AXON Aviation’s table lists the ACJ319 at $95 million, the ACJ320 at $100 million, and the BBJ at $62.3 million, but it has no clear publication date. Those values are context, not a substitute for the dated Q1 2025 comparison.

For a useful comparison, look for the aircraft’s year and category, the source’s price definition, and whether cabin completion is included. Seating and configuration also matter: a price for a standard equipped aircraft does not tell you what a buyer’s bespoke layout or modifications will cost. The figures here are nominal USD as published; they are not adjusted for inflation and do not establish private transaction prices.
