How much did Johnny Depp make for Pirates of the Caribbean?
In 2011, TheWrap reported that one person with knowledge of the deals estimated Depp’s earnings across four Pirates of the Caribbean films at close to $350 million. A different person close to the franchise put the total closer to $280 million. Disney called the higher figure “highly inaccurate” but did not provide its own accounting.

Why isn’t there a reliable ranking of his highest-paid roles?
The published figures use different measures and come from different kinds of reporting.
