ClearTax’s expert-assisted income tax return (ITR) filing plans are priced by income type, starting at ₹499 for a salary-only return and reaching ₹6,500 for the higher business plan (Business Tier-2), in each case plus taxes. Self e-filing can be started for free. The amount you pay depends on which plan matches your income sources, so the figure that applies to you is the one shown for that plan at checkout.
Plan-by-plan ITR filing charges
The prices below are the listed amounts on ClearTax’s official pricing pages as captured in 2026. Each one is stated as “plus taxes,” so the total you pay will be higher than the listed figure.
| Plan | Listed price (plus taxes) | Income it is designed for |
|---|---|---|
| Salary | ₹499 | Return based on salary income |
| House Property | ₹799 | Return including income from house property |
| Capital Gains | ₹1,799 | Return including capital gains or losses |
| Foreign Income | ₹3,100 | Return including income earned outside India |
| NRI | ₹3,100 | Return for a non-resident Indian |
| Presumptive Tax | ₹2,499 (page shows ₹3,700 alongside as a higher reference price) | Return under the presumptive taxation scheme for business or profession |
| Business Tier-1 | ₹3,700 | Business or professional income, lower tier |
| Business Tier-2 | ₹6,500 | Business or professional income, higher tier |
Where the Basic, Premium and Luxe tiers fit
ClearTax’s main pricing page also describes broader levels called Basic, Premium and Luxe, along with the income categories and support benefits each includes. The pricing results reviewed for this article did not show a price for each of these tiers, so no amount is given here for them. Check the live pricing page to see whether a tier is priced separately before you compare it with the plans above.
What “plus taxes” means for your total
The “plus taxes” wording means the listed figure does not include the taxes added at checkout. The sources reviewed did not state the exact tax amount or rate, so you should read the tax line in the final checkout summary and add it to the plan price yourself. Do not assume the listed figure is your final cost.

Free self e-filing versus paid assisted plans
ClearTax states that you can start self e-filing for free. That statement covers starting the process; it does not establish that every feature, return type or add-on is free. The prices in the table apply to expert-assisted plans, where ClearTax’s team helps prepare or file the return for you. If you are comfortable entering your own figures, begin with the free self-filing route and check at each step whether a feature you need is marked as paid.
Discounts and partner offers
ClearTax publishes partner-specific pages, such as those linked to 5paisa and SRF, that show their own self-filing prices and offers. These pages show that promotional pricing can differ by partner audience. Eligibility, offer validity and the final checkout price are set on the specific campaign page, so an offer you see on one partner page may not apply to you. The listed plan prices above are the standard figures; do not assume a discount applies unless the checkout shows it.

How to choose the right plan
- Salary only: the Salary plan at ₹499 is the lowest listed price.
- Salary plus rented-out or self-occupied property: the House Property plan at ₹799 covers that income type.
- Shares, mutual funds, property sale or other capital gains: the Capital Gains plan at ₹1,799 is the listed option.
- Income earned outside India: the Foreign Income plan at ₹3,100 applies, and the NRI plan at ₹3,100 applies if you are a non-resident Indian.
- Business or profession using presumptive taxation: the Presumptive Tax plan at ₹2,499 is listed for this case.
- Business or professional income with full accounts: compare Business Tier-1 at ₹3,700 and Business Tier-2 at ₹6,500, and pick the tier that matches the complexity of your accounts.
If your return combines several income types, the plan that covers your most complex income is usually the right starting point. Confirm the inclusions on the live page before you pay.
Checks to run before you pay
- Open ClearTax’s pricing page and confirm the plan name matches your income type.
- Note the listed price and the words “plus taxes” beside it.
- If you arrived through a partner link, compare the partner offer with the standard price and confirm its eligibility terms.
- Proceed to checkout and read the final amount, including the tax line, before you enter payment details.
Prices and offers can change, so the checkout amount is the figure to rely on at the time of purchase.
