The Public Service Commission, West Bengal (WBPSC), dated its initial notice 24 September 2021. It concerned Advertisement No. 05/2019 and candidates provisionally qualified for the Computer Type Test based on the Part I and Part II results. That figure describes the initial announcement, not the later revised list. The reported next step included online document verification; the associated 2021 timeline has passed and is not an active deadline.
The revised list changed the result picture
On 30 September 2021, WBPSC published a revised notice after revisiting tabulation. It listed 55,056 candidates as provisionally qualified. The notice said candidates meeting the applicable aggregate standards were included, with a 40% threshold for unreserved candidates and corresponding lower standards for reserved categories. The revised notice stated that typing-test shortlisting would be made in order of merit subject to available vacancies, and that “mere enlistment would not guarantee selection.” It also listed 7,227 category-wise vacancies; that figure is recruitment context, not the number of appointments made.

- The 6,861 figure belongs to the initial 24 September announcement; the revised official list published six days later contained 55,056 provisionally qualified candidates.
- Provisionally qualifying or appearing on a list did not guarantee selection or appointment. Shortlisting for the typing test depended on merit and vacancies.
- The notices reviewed do not establish the exact typing speed, test duration, complete language or device requirements, or any current candidate-specific status. Do not infer those details from the test’s name.
