What happened in Sialkot?
Asif attended the inauguration of the Pizza Hut-branded outlet in Sialkot Cantt on January 20, 2026. Photos and video from the event circulated online, prompting questions about whether the restaurant was part of Pizza Hut’s official Pakistan network. India Today reported on the inauguration and the competing claims.
The central issue is authorization: Pizza Hut Pakistan says the outlet was not part of its business, while Asif’s team said it was operated under Maaks International and was authorized. Those are opposing claims, not a settled finding about the outlet’s legal status.

Why does Maaks International matter?
Pizza Hut Pakistan’s notice says Maaks International and affiliates continued operating locations using the Pizza Hut brand after their prior arrangements ended in February 2023. The company says related legal proceedings are ongoing. That account frames the Sialkot dispute within a broader disagreement over the former arrangements, but the notice alone does not determine the legal rights of either side.

Has a court decided whether the outlet was official?
The available reporting and company notice do not establish a final judicial or tribunal decision on the Sialkot Cantt location. The clearest supported answer is that Pizza Hut Pakistan publicly disowned the outlet, while Asif’s team contested that characterization and asserted authorization. Until a decision or further documented evidence resolves the disagreement, neither side’s public statement should be presented as a conclusive legal finding.
