Yes—Facebook Stories can earn money when the account and content qualify for Facebook Content Monetization. Meta includes Stories in the program, but access is currently invite-only. Creators can express interest in the Facebook mobile app through Professional Dashboard → Monetization → Content Monetization. An interest form is not approval, and Meta does not promise a fixed amount per Story view.
How Facebook Stories can earn money
There are three distinct routes: payment from Meta for eligible content, recurring payments from subscribing fans where the feature is available, and compensation from businesses for branded content. They differ in who pays and what determines earnings.

How to check whether your account can join Content Monetization
- Open the Facebook mobile app and go to Professional Dashboard.
- Select Monetization, then Content Monetization.
- If the option is shown, complete the interest form and check the dashboard for your account’s status and current requirements.
Meta describes Content Monetization as an invite-only program. Submitting interest does not guarantee an invitation or enrollment. The official information does not establish a complete set of current follower, view, age, account-status, or country thresholds for every creator, so use the dashboard rather than relying on a threshold quoted elsewhere.
How Meta calculates Story earnings
Meta says the program pays for eligible content formats, including Stories, based on performance. Its metrics distinguish views that may be eligible to earn from views that do not qualify:

These metrics are not a guaranteed payout formula. Meta has not published a universal fixed rate for an individual Facebook Story. It says it is emphasizing original content, deeper engagement, longer watch time, and qualified views, but those priorities do not guarantee a particular earnings amount.
Meta reported that Facebook paid creators nearly $3 billion through creator monetization programs in 2025, 35% more than in 2024. It said 60% of that total went to Reels, with the remainder going to Stories, photos, and text posts. Those are platform-wide totals across creators and formats—not a forecast for any one creator or Story.

Other ways to earn from Stories
Subscriptions from followers
Meta has described ways for followers to subscribe through Facebook Stories and Reels. This can provide a recurring fan-support route when the feature is enabled, but its availability depends on the creator’s account and location. Do not assume every profile has a subscription option.
Paid brand partnerships
A business may pay a creator to feature or mention a product or service in a Story. This compensation is negotiated with the business and is separate from Meta’s Content Monetization payouts. Meta’s branded-content guidance says to use the paid partnership label when content involves an exchange of value, including paid promotion, gifted products or services, and affiliate links.

- Look in your Professional Dashboard for your account’s current access and requirements; general view or follower counts do not establish eligibility.
- Distinguish qualified views from total views when reviewing earnings metrics.
- Treat Meta’s platform-wide payout figures as context, not a personal income estimate.
- For sponsorships, agree on compensation with the brand and apply the paid partnership label when required.
