Walmart’s verified December 2023 promotion was its “Walmart Deals – Ready, Set, Gift” event, which ran in stores nationwide from Dec. 13 through Dec. 21. The available official sources do not establish specific Nordstrom discounts or item-by-item deals for either retailer, and these dates have passed.
What Walmart’s December 2023 sale included
Walmart announced “Walmart Deals – Ready, Set, Gift” as its final holiday savings event of 2023. The in-store event began nationwide on Dec. 13 at 6 a.m. local time, following an earlier online start that month, and continued through Dec. 21 at 2 p.m. Eastern time. Walmart’s Dec. 13 announcement described thousands of gifts across technology, apparel, home, and other categories, but did not verify particular products or prices in the available text.

Walmart’s October holiday announcement also said its meal savings were valid Nov. 1 through Dec. 26, 2023. It described ordering through Walmart.com or the Walmart app, with pickup or delivery. Those dates are historical, not guidance for current availability. The October announcement attributed a budgeting statistic to research it cited: 60% of Walmart customers said inflation would affect their holiday budgets and lead to more intentional gifting. This figure refers to Walmart customers, not consumers generally.
What is known about Nordstrom’s December deals
Nordstrom’s Form 10-Q filed Dec. 1, 2023, says fall sale activity typically occurs from November through December as the company prepares for holiday shopping. That general seasonal context does not verify a specific Nordstrom December promotion, product, discount, price, or offer period. Nordstrom’s filing is not an item-level sale listing.

Can shoppers compare the retailers’ 2023 offers?
Not from the verified details available here. Walmart’s announcement confirms a dated, multi-category event but supplies no specific deal prices in the available source text; Nordstrom’s filing describes typical sale timing rather than actual offers. A reliable item-by-item comparison would require dated listings showing each item, its price and reference price, fulfillment options, and offer end date.

No. The Walmart event and holiday-meal savings described above ended in December 2023. The cited Nordstrom filing establishes no live or dated offer. Check each retailer’s current listings for present-day promotions rather than relying on expired holiday dates.
