Is the U.S. route action the same as these alleged cuts?
No. The U.S. Department of Transportation described a separate action affecting 13 current or planned routes operated by Mexican carriers. Its statement includes Volaris’s Mexico City–Newark route, but it does not confirm eight Volaris cuts from one Mexican city. The DOT’s figure and regulatory action should not be treated as proof of the headline’s claim.
