Visible’s $15-a-month offer was a 2024 promotion, not a deal to assume is still open. Announced on August 23, 2024, it advertised the base Visible plan for eligible T-Mobile switchers, with the $15 monthly rate held for five years. Current Visible promotions are different.
What Visible offered in 2024
Visible’s counteroffer came as Mint Mobile, then owned by T-Mobile, promoted an introductory deal for customers switching from AT&T or Verizon. Visible advertised a lower price for a longer period: $15 per month per line for five years, or 60 months, on its base plan. That was $10 below the then-standard $25 monthly base-plan price. Visible said taxes and fees were included.

The reported eligibility details come from 2024 coverage, including WhistleOut and BetaNews. They are historical reporting, not current enrollment instructions. Do not assume that Mint customers or every T-Mobile-brand customer qualified.
Why Visible was taking aim at Mint
Mint’s promotion offered three months at an effective $15 per month to customers switching from AT&T or Verizon. It also included up to four additional lines during that initial promotional period. Visible’s pitch contrasted Mint’s introductory price with a five-year rate and monthly billing.

That comparison needs context: Mint’s price after the initial period depended on the plan and renewal term. BetaNews noted that Mint’s annual option was $30 per month, a material distinction from treating the offer as though every customer simply moved to a single higher price after three months. Mint’s lowest effective monthly pricing generally involved paying for multiple months in advance, while Visible’s advertised offer was billed monthly. The exact 2024 renewal terms should not be inferred from Mint’s current plan terms.
Mint runs on T-Mobile’s network; Visible uses Verizon’s network. The services also differ in plan terms and data management. “Unlimited” by itself does not establish equal priority, hotspot access, video treatment, or performance. The 2024 comparison reported a 40GB high-speed data threshold for the Mint plan it discussed, after which speeds were reduced; that figure should be treated as specific to that plan and period, not as a description of every Mint plan today.

What the five-year price could have saved
Compared with the then-standard $25 monthly base Visible rate, the advertised discount was $10 per month. Over 60 months, that is up to $600 per line in headline savings.

These are comparisons against the historical $25 price, not guaranteed net savings. They do not account for phone costs, service differences, benefits lost by leaving T-Mobile, or any costs outside the advertised plan price. The per-line calculation also does not prove that every line on a family account could enroll.

Restrictions and risks that mattered
Porting and device eligibility
The promotion was reported as a bring-your-own-device offer requiring a port from T-Mobile within 30 days of activation. A phone bought through Visible might not have met that reported BYOD condition. Before switching, check that the device is unlocked and compatible with Visible using its BYOD and compatibility flow. A number port is consequential: confirm the target number and account details before initiating it.
Eligibility and account status
Contemporary reports differed in how narrowly they described the qualifying T-Mobile customer. Unless the original promotional terms confirm eligibility, do not assume that prepaid customers, Mint subscribers, or other T-Mobile-brand users qualified. The old code alone is not proof of eligibility or a path to enrollment.

A rate guarantee is not a service guarantee
A price promise does not guarantee coverage, speed, network capacity, customer support, unchanged features, or premium data priority for five years. Current Visible legal disclosures say traffic may be slower during congestion and set plan-specific hotspot terms; those current policies should not be retroactively treated as the precise terms of the 2024 promotion. Which option made sense for which customer?
- The historical Visible offer: Potentially appealing to a single-line customer who already had a compatible unlocked phone, preferred predictable monthly billing, and had reliable Verizon coverage in the places they use service.
- Mint: Potentially better for someone who preferred T-Mobile’s network, could prepay several months, or benefited from Mint’s introductory multi-line structure. Compare the full renewal term, taxes and fees, data terms, and number of lines—not just the introductory effective rate. Current plan details are at Mint’s plans page; its plan terms and FAQ are separate from the 2024 promotion.
- T-Mobile postpaid: May remain worthwhile for customers who use device financing or promotions, roaming, bundled services, account benefits, or retail support. T-Mobile’s current 5-Year Price Guarantee is a separate program for eligible Experience plans; it covers the monthly price for talk, text, and T-Mobile 5G data while excluding taxes, fees, add-ons, third-party services, and certain other charges.
Coverage is highly local. Compare service at home, work or school, on your commute, indoors, in rural places you visit, and at regular travel destinations before porting. Visible is a Verizon-owned prepaid brand, not Verizon postpaid; its digital-first support and plan benefits differ.
Is the $15 Visible offer still available?
Do not treat BYEBYETMO as an active 2026 signup code. Visible’s current public pages show different offers. At the time reflected by the current offer page, Visible advertised Visible+ for $30 per month for up to five years with code 5OFF5 for eligible switchers; that is not the 2024 $15 base-plan deal. Visible’s public plans page lists plans beginning at $25 per month. Promotions can change, so check the live terms before enrolling: Visible BYOD and current offer page and Visible plans.
Visible’s current legal disclosures also say at least one month of service must be prepaid. That is a current policy statement, not evidence of a condition attached to the old promotion. See Visible’s legal disclosures.
