Is the Verizon $100 million settlement still open?
No. A legal-information report updated September 23, 2026, says the claim deadline was April 15, 2024, and that the settlement has been paid and closed. The headline saying customers have “hours left” is outdated; there is no current filing window for a new claim. Read the September 2026 report.
The Verizon settlement administrator’s official website is verizonadministrativechargesettlement.com. Its detailed page could not be verified in the available text view, so anyone who already filed should visit the site directly to check case-specific claim or payment status.
What was the settlement about?
The case, reported as Esposito v. Cellco Partnership d/b/a Verizon Wireless in New Jersey state court, concerned allegations that Verizon added monthly Administrative Charges or Administrative and Telco Recovery Charges to certain postpaid wireless or data bills, in addition to advertised plan prices. It was a billing-fee case, not a customer-data-exposure settlement. The September 2026 report summarizes the allegations and settlement.

Who qualified?
The reported class covered individual consumers with Verizon postpaid wireless or data accounts who were charged and paid one of the specified fees from January 1, 2016, through November 8, 2023. Business accounts were not included in the reported class description. Simply being a current or former Verizon customer was not enough; the account type, fee, and dates mattered. How much did claimants receive?
The reported settlement fund was $100 million. The reported payment formula was $15 per account plus $1 for each qualifying month, up to an initial allocation maximum of $100, subject to a pro-rata reduction. Those formula amounts were not a promise of a final payment. The September 2026 report says most valid claimants received between $2.37 and $14 after fees and pro-rata reductions; that is a reported historical range, not a guarantee for any individual claimant. - Go directly to the official settlement administrator’s website and look for claim or payment status information.
- Compare any status shown there with your own claim confirmation and payment records.
- If you cannot resolve a discrepancy, use contact information shown on the administrator’s official site. The site’s current detailed text and contact instructions could not be verified here.
Verizon’s settlement agreement is a primary document describing the claims process, but its claim-form language does not establish the later actual deadline or current status. For those details, the September 2026 report states the April 15, 2024 deadline and that the settlement is closed.
