Vanna White and longtime partner John Donaldson married in a private ceremony, she announced on January 22, 2026. The news came more than two years after reports that White received a raise in connection with her Wheel of Fortune contract renewal. No reporting cited here connects the raise to the couple’s decision to marry.
Did Vanna White marry her longtime boyfriend?
Yes. White announced on Instagram that she and Donaldson had married in a private ceremony. The Los Angeles Times reported her announcement on January 22, 2026, quoting her: “Surprise! We got married!” She said they had been in love for more than a decade and had decided “a little while back” to make it official. Los Angeles Times
The couple met in 2012, according to the Times. In a 2023 interview with People, White said, “We’ve been together 12 years, and I feel like we are married,” and explained that they felt comfortable in their relationship without marrying. That earlier comment described their position at the time; the 2026 announcement confirms they later chose to marry. Los Angeles Times
What was reported about White’s pay increase?
In September 2023, Sony Pictures Television announced that White had signed a contract extension for two additional seasons, covering the 2024–25 and 2025–26 seasons. The Associated Press reported the extension based on Sony’s announcement. Associated Press

Fortune reported that the renewal came with a pay raise, described as her first in 18 years. Its September 2023 coverage said the amount of the raise had not been reported. The sources do not provide White’s contract or its full compensation terms, so the raise’s precise size should not be treated as publicly established. Fortune
How much does Vanna White make on Wheel of Fortune?
Fortune reported in March 2025 that White’s annual income under the 2025–26 contract was $10 million. This is a media-reported figure, not a salary term publicly disclosed by Sony or a figure verified from the contract. It is also distinct from the amount of the 2023 raise, which Fortune said had not been reported at the time. Fortune

In the same 2025 report, Fortune quoted White saying the show films about 34 days a year, with six episodes filmed per day. That schedule gives context to her comments about the job, but it does not establish an hourly wage: the reported annual income and the filming schedule are different measures, and the contract’s full terms are not public. Fortune
Did the raise lead to the marriage?
The available reporting establishes a sequence of separate events, not a cause-and-effect link. White’s raise was reported alongside her 2023 contract renewal; she said that year that she and Donaldson were comfortable without marriage; and she announced their private marriage in January 2026. Neither the marriage announcement nor the compensation coverage says the raise prompted their decision.
