Short verdict: Utho is a genuine Indian cloud-infrastructure provider with competitive listed prices for virtual servers, Kubernetes nodes, block storage and managed databases. Its G2 feedback is strongly positive, while Trustpilot has a tiny, much weaker sample. Utho is worth testing for cost-sensitive Indian websites, APIs, staging environments and smaller SaaS deployments—but storage reliability, backups, support escalation and recovery should be proven before moving critical production systems.

What is Utho Cloud?

Utho provides virtual cloud servers, Kubernetes nodes, block storage, managed databases and migration assistance. The company says it operated as Microhost before adopting the Utho name in 2023; its own history describes operations since 2013, while G2 lists a different founding or service date. Those dates are therefore not perfectly consistent. See Utho’s company information and G2’s seller listing.

Its positioning is India-focused: local data centers, local support, predictable billing and infrastructure aimed at startups, agencies and small-to-medium businesses. It is not a one-for-one replacement for every AWS, Azure or Google Cloud service. G2 reviewers mention missing advanced services, including publish/subscribe and notification capabilities, along with documentation and customization limitations.

Utho pricing in 2026

The following prices were displayed on Utho’s public pricing pages during the August 16, 2026 pricing check. They are monthly list prices in Indian rupees; Utho also advertises hourly billing. Confirm currency, GST, billing mode and checkout totals before ordering because prices and capacity can change. “EBS only” indicates that attached persistent storage is not included in the compute line item.

Shared-CPU cloud instances

Plan vCPU RAM Storage Transfer Monthly price
Basic 1 2 4 GB EBS only 1,000 GB ₹1,410
Basic 2 4 8 GB EBS only 1,000 GB ₹2,826
Basic 3 6 16 GB EBS only 1,000 GB ₹3,978
Basic 4 8 32 GB EBS only 1,000 GB ₹6,690
Basic 5 12 64 GB EBS only 1,000 GB ₹12,522
Basic 6 24 96 GB EBS only 1,000 GB ₹25,962
Basic 7 32 128 GB EBS only 1,000 GB ₹34,986
Basic 8 48 192 GB EBS only 1,000 GB ₹49,050

See the official pricing page for current configurations. The listed 1,000 GB is an allowance, not proof of unlimited bandwidth. Ask whether GST, operating-system licensing, public IPs, backups, snapshots, load balancing and support tiers are included in your quotation.

Kubernetes nodes

Utho lists Kubernetes nodes at the same basic compute prices. The entry listing is 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, no disk and 1,000 GB transfer for ₹1,410 per month (Kubernetes pricing). Budget separately for persistent volumes, control-plane arrangements, load balancing, backups and other cluster components. A few inexpensive nodes do not automatically provide high availability; that depends on control-plane design, storage replication, networking and tested recovery.

Block storage

Capacity Monthly price
10 GB ₹40
20 GB ₹80
50 GB ₹200
100 GB ₹400
200 GB ₹800
500 GB ₹2,000

These are the capacities and prices shown for scalable NVMe SSD block storage on Utho’s block-storage page. Confirm IOPS, throughput, replication, snapshot behavior and deletion rules; capacity alone does not describe storage performance or durability.

Managed databases

The managed-database list starts at ₹2,691 per month for 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 80 GB SSD and 1,000 GB transfer. The largest displayed plan is ₹82,791 per month for 48 vCPU, 192 GB RAM, 1,280 GB SSD and 1,000 GB transfer (database pricing).

Before choosing it, confirm supported engines and versions, automated-backup retention, point-in-time recovery, replicas, failover, encryption, maintenance windows, connection limits, monitoring, restoration testing and import/export tools. A managed database is valuable because of its operational safeguards, not simply its CPU and RAM.

What Utho says is included

Utho’s simple-pricing page and pricing pages advertise unlimited inbound traffic, free DNS management, monitoring and alerts, 24/7 technical support, free cloud migration, DDoS protection, no bandwidth overage charges, no egress fees and no minimum-spend requirement. These are published Utho claims, not independent verification. Check service-specific terms, region limits, fair-use rules and the formal contract.

Utho also advertises hourly billing and snapshots at ₹4 per GB. Hourly billing does not necessarily mean every resource stops charging immediately when deleted, so verify billing termination for disks, IPs, snapshots and managed services. “Free migration” may mean selected engineering assistance or tooling rather than a guaranteed zero-downtime move.

Utho advertises a 99.99% uptime SLA on its about page and cloud-hosting page. That target equates to about 4 minutes 23 seconds of downtime in a 30-day month, but an SLA is a contractual commitment with exclusions and service-credit rules—not a guarantee that every application will be available that often. Marketing pages also quote different support-response figures, from under five minutes to under 20 minutes; rely on the formal support SLA instead of combining them into one promise.

Is Utho really cheaper than AWS, Google Cloud and Azure?

Utho’s pricing page claims savings of approximately 68% against AWS and Azure and 55% against Google Cloud for selected displayed configurations, including its ₹1,410, ₹3,978, ₹25,962 and ₹49,050 instances. Those are Utho’s own comparisons, not independent benchmarks. Other Utho pages show different sample prices—for example, ₹8,610 and ₹7,495 for an 8-vCPU, 32-GB example—so no single percentage is universal.

A fair comparison must normalize:

  • Compute architecture and performance.
  • Persistent storage and IOPS.
  • Transfer and egress allowances.
  • Backups, snapshots and restoration.
  • Public IPs, load balancing and monitoring.
  • Managed databases and support.
  • Taxes, discounts and billing commitments.
  • Redundancy across instances or zones.
  • Migration and ongoing operating labor.

A low VM price can be attractive while the complete production architecture costs much more. Use Utho’s figures as a starting quote, not proof that it is 55–68% cheaper for your application.

What customers say about Utho

Source Rating and volume surfaced Main signal Limitation
G2 About 4.7–4.8/5; 181–182 reviews Strong feedback on price, interface, deployment and support Review-platform selection and verification bias
Trustpilot 3.1/5; five reviews Mixed evidence, including one serious storage complaint Extremely small sample
Reddit discussion Isolated threads Useful anecdotal failure-mode and usability reports Not representative customer research

G2 themes

G2 reviewers commonly praise affordability, quick deployment, a clean interface, responsive support and value for small-business deployments. Reported weaknesses include documentation gaps, limited advanced services and customization, occasional downtime or technical difficulty, and requests for more capacity. Some reviewers report poor support or difficulty finding servers in Bangalore. These are reviewer experiences, not independently measured service levels.

Trustpilot’s warning signal

One July 2025 one-star review alleged that an EBS volume became read-only, followed by filesystem corruption or journal and superblock errors, loss of access to ordinary commands, missing monitoring alerts and recovery without a clear explanation. This is one customer’s allegation, not evidence of a systemic defect, but it is serious enough to make independent backups and restoration testing mandatory. A January 2026 Trustpilot review was positive.

Utho pros and cons

Pros

  • Competitive listed compute prices.
  • India-focused infrastructure and support positioning.
  • Hourly billing and a relatively simple price structure.
  • Products covering common VPS, Kubernetes, storage and database needs.
  • Positive G2 themes around usability, value and support.

Cons

  • Smaller service catalog and ecosystem than the major hyperscalers.
  • Documentation and advanced-service gaps reported by reviewers.
  • Limited independent evidence for reliability and storage durability.
  • Large differences between review-platform results.
  • Regional capacity and service maturity require validation.

Who should use Utho?

Utho is potentially suitable for Indian-facing websites, APIs, development and staging environments, conventional VPS workloads, agencies, small-to-medium SaaS products and teams that value local support and predictable billing. It is most defensible when the application is portable, the buyer can maintain independent backups and the required services fit Utho’s narrower catalog.

It may be a poor fit for globally distributed applications needing mature multi-region failover, extensive serverless, analytics, eventing or AI services; Microsoft-centric hybrid estates; organizations requiring broad third-party integrations or independently audited performance evidence; and businesses unable to operate a separate disaster-recovery plan.

India location, global reach and total cost

India-based hosting can reduce latency for Indian users and support data-localization goals. It may be less suitable when users are concentrated in North America, Europe or Southeast Asia unless an appropriate region and delivery layer are available. Utho advertises five strategic data centers and India-sovereign hosting; third-party listings have also mentioned Germany and the United States. Check the live control panel for exact regions and current capacity rather than relying on marketing pages.

The ₹1,410 entry plan is not a complete production-website price. Add persistent disks, backups, snapshots, load balancers, additional IPs, managed databases, security tooling, premium or dedicated CPU and redundant instances to your estimate.

What to ask before signing up

  1. Which exact data center and service tier will host the workload?
  2. What are the current SLA exclusions and service-credit terms?
  3. How are block volumes replicated, and what durability is committed?
  4. What backup architecture, retention, RPO and RTO are provided?
  5. What is the support escalation path and response target?
  6. Are dedicated CPU plans available if shared CPU is insufficient?
  7. For Kubernetes, are the control plane, persistent volumes, ingress and load balancing separately charged?
  8. For databases, what backup, failover and version-support policies apply?
  9. How can data be exported during a migration or account closure?
  10. Do quoted prices include GST and every mandatory charge?
  11. Are account verification, payment and regional capacity restrictions applicable?

Safe proof-of-concept test before production

  1. Document CPU, RAM, disk, IOPS, bandwidth, latency and acceptable downtime requirements.
  2. Prepare an external backup destination and a rollback plan.
  3. Deploy a disposable instance in the intended region.
  4. Measure latency from your actual users and run application-level load tests.
  5. Test disk throughput, reboot behavior, resize, downgrade and deletion.
  6. Create snapshots and perform a full restore; verify the restored application, not just the snapshot status.
  7. Test monitoring alerts, support-ticket quality and escalation.
  8. Confirm billing after stopping and deleting compute, disks, IPs and snapshots.
  9. Verify backups from outside the Utho account.
  10. Before launch, use redundancy for critical services, keep independent backups and test disaster recovery.

Alternatives by workload

Provider Often a better fit when you need Trade-off versus Utho
DigitalOcean Developer-friendly servers, databases and Kubernetes Broader international recognition; India economics may differ
Akamai Cloud / Linode Simple VPS infrastructure with an international footprint More established global footprint; not specifically India-focused
AWS Global scale, deep managed services and compliance programs Much greater breadth and pricing complexity
Google Cloud Data, AI/ML, Kubernetes and global applications Broader platform and ecosystem, usually more operational complexity
Microsoft Azure Microsoft identity, hybrid infrastructure and enterprise integration Deeper enterprise integration but more complex pricing and operation

Exact alternative pricing is not stated here because it varies by region, commitment, storage, transfer and service selection.

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: Utho has a strong price proposition for India-focused, portable workloads and encouraging—but not conclusive—customer feedback. Treat it as a provider to pilot, not an automatically proven hyperscaler substitute. Move production only after independently testing storage, backups, restoration, support escalation, regional capacity and the complete cost of your architecture.
