What the 2024 UPSC notice required
Printout and photo identification
The UPSC notice instructed candidates to download and print the e-admit card after upload, preserve it until the final result, and bring its printout to the exam. No paper admit card would be issued. Candidates also had to carry, for each session, the photo ID whose number appeared on the e-admit card. The notice said candidates without the card printout would not be allowed to take the exam.

According to the UPSC notice, the forenoon session was scheduled for 10:00 AM–12:30 PM and the afternoon session for 2:00 PM–4:30 PM. Entry to the venue closed 30 minutes before each session. Candidates could not sit the exam at a venue other than the one printed on their e-admit card.
Items to bring and leave behind
The notice advised candidates to bring a black ball point pen. It prohibited mobile phones, smart or digital watches, books, bags, and other listed valuables or electronic items inside the venue.
