The UPSC Indian Forest Service (IFoS) Examination 2025 application window is closed. The final recorded last date to apply was 21 February 2025—not today. Applicants for a later cycle should use UPSC’s current application portal and check the latest examination notice; the 2025 form is not open.
When was the UPSC IFoS 2025 last date to apply?
UPSC’s examination notifications archive records 21 February 2025 as the last date to submit applications for IFoS Preliminary 2025 through the Civil Services Preliminary Examination. A subsequent UPSC notice dated 24 February 2026 also identifies 21 February 2025 as the closing date. The original notice, issued on 22 January 2025, gave 11 February as the deadline. That date was superseded; 21 February 2025 is the final deadline recorded by UPSC. The original notice is available as Examination Notice No. 06/2025-IFoS.
Can you still apply for the 2025 examination?
No. The application window has ended, so the old 2025 deadline should not be treated as an active application opportunity. UPSC’s legacy online portal states that it is for previewing applications submitted on or before 25 March 2025 and directs applicants to the new portal for future applications.
For a later examination cycle, start at UPSC’s Apply Online page, which directs candidates to the current application portal, upsconline.nic.in. Check the latest notice there for that cycle’s dates and instructions; the portal link is not a route to submit an IFoS 2025 application.

UPSC’s 2025 notice said applicants had to apply online. Candidates seeking admission to both the Indian Forest Service Examination and the Civil Services Examination could use one common online form, subject to meeting the eligibility requirements.
To proceed to the IFoS Main Examination, candidates had to appear in and qualify the Civil Services Preliminary Examination. The IFoS Main Examination consists of a written examination and an interview, as described in the official 2025 examination notice.
