The exact official direct link and release date for the UPSC Geo-Scientist Main DAF 2024 could not be confirmed. UPSC’s examination notice does establish that candidates who qualified for Stage III—the Personality Test/Interview—were required to complete the Detailed Application Form (DAF). The notice is dated 20 September 2023; that is the examination-notice date, not proof of when the DAF was released.
Who had to fill the 2024 Geo-Scientist DAF?
UPSC’s Examination Notice No. 02/2024 GEOL says candidates declared qualified for Stage III, the Personality Test/Interview, were required to fill the Detailed Application Form. In this examination, DAF means Detailed Application Form. The requirement applies to candidates who reached that interview stage, not to every person who sat the Main examination.

No exact official direct link to the historical 2024 DAF can be confirmed from the available official records. Avoid relying on a guessed portal address or a third-party page that presents an unverified link as official. The examination notice is useful for confirming who needed to complete the form, but it is not the DAF portal.

If you are trying to locate a past submission or confirm what you filed, use UPSC’s official website and its examination-related records, and check any UPSC communication you received as a qualified candidate. Do not enter personal information or credentials into a page unless you have verified that it is an official UPSC service.
Why the 2023 notice date is not the DAF release date
The date 20 September 2023 belongs to the Combined Geo-Scientist Examination, 2024 notice. It establishes the examination’s announced process, including the requirement for Stage III candidates to complete the DAF. It does not show when UPSC released or opened the form. Treating the notice date as the DAF launch date would conflate two separate administrative events.

Later marks archive
UPSC’s marks archive includes a record titled “Combined Geo-Scientist (Main) Examination, 2024” for marks of recommended candidates, uploaded on 30 December 2024. This is a later outcome record, not a DAF announcement or submission link. Check the UPSC marks archive.
Previous question papers
UPSC’s previous-question-papers page lists 2024 Main papers for Hydrogeology, Geology, Geo-Physics and Chemistry. These papers can help identify the examination’s subject areas, but they do not lead to the DAF. View UPSC previous question papers.

Current examination listings
The 2024 DAF is a historical form. UPSC’s active examinations listing included the Combined Geo-Scientist (Main) Examination, 2026 at the time reflected in the available record. For a current application or examination, use the relevant current notice and listing rather than a past-year form. View active UPSC examinations.

- Examination notice: establishes the process and says which candidates must complete the DAF.
- DAF portal: the service where qualified candidates would complete the form; the exact historical 2024 URL is not verified here.
- Past-paper page: provides examination papers, not application forms.
- Marks archive: records later results or marks, not the DAF release.
For the 2024 cycle, the official notice confirms the Stage III DAF requirement, but the exact DAF release date and direct link remain unverified. Use official UPSC records for context, and do not mistake the notice, paper archive or marks record for the form itself.
