Can you apply for the CISF Assistant Commandant recruitment now?
No. As of October 8, 2026, the application window and examination date for the CISF AC (Executive) LDCE 2025 have both passed. UPSC’s notice, issued on December 4, 2024, set an application period of December 4–24, 2024, and said the online link would be disabled after the deadline. See the UPSC notice and examination information for the relevant cycle; the old link should not be treated as an active application route.
The notice was expressly restricted: UPSC said, “The Examination is restricted to only certain categories of departmental candidates of CISF.” It was not an application opportunity for all graduates or civilians. The notice and the separate Ministry of Home Affairs rules govern the departmental route; public CAPF examination eligibility should not be substituted for them.
What did the December 24 deadline apply to?
It applied to the CISF Assistant Commandants (Executive) Limited Departmental Competitive Examination, 2025. How was this different from open CAPF AC recruitment?
The open Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination, 2024 was a separate UPSC examination that included CISF among five forces. It was open to eligible public applicants under its own notice, with a May 14, 2024 deadline at 6 p.m.; the examination was held on August 4, 2024. UPSC’s examination record lists the notice, papers, cut-off marks and reserve list for that cycle.

The open examination’s written test took place on August 4, 2024, and personality tests ran from May 5 to June 5, 2025. The Press Information Bureau reported 459 candidates recommended in its 2025 final-result announcement. That result concerns the open CAPF examination, not the CISF departmental LDCE.

What should candidates do for a future cycle?
- Check the latest UPSC notice and the applicable MHA rules before relying on an old deadline or eligibility summary. UPSC’s homepage now carries later cycle material, including CISF AC (Executive) LDCE-2027.
- Use the right notice for the intended route: a public CAPF AC examination and a CISF departmental LDCE have different candidate pools and rules.
- For the 2024 departmental cycle, the notice instructed candidates to apply online through UPSC, using One Time Registration and the notice’s application instructions. The MHA Gazette rules also described hard-copy routing through proper CISF channels for verification and onward transmission.
