UPSC’s Combined Defence Services Examination (II), 2024 is a completed examination cycle, not an open application. The written exam took place on 1 September 2024; the official result notice says 8,796 candidates qualified for consideration for Service Selection Board interviews. UPSC’s archive also provides the cycle’s English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics papers. The official records available here do not verify the title’s claim of 459 vacancies or establish the original application dates and eligibility details.
CDS II 2024 is a past examination cycle
The Union Public Service Commission’s written-result notice records that CDS II 2024 was conducted on 1 September 2024 and that 8,796 candidates qualified for interview consideration by the Ministry of Defence’s Service Selection Board. The notice identifies courses associated with the cycle at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA) and Officers’ Training Academy (OTA), with courses beginning in 2025. UPSC’s examination notification archive includes later examination cycles, including CDS II 2026, so the 2024 cycle is not accepting applications now. Check UPSC’s examination notification archive for current notices.
Is the 459-vacancy figure confirmed?
The official material identified here does not establish that CDS II 2024 offered 459 vacancies, nor does it provide an academy-wise vacancy breakdown. Treat that figure as unverified unless it can be checked against the original 2024 notification. The same limitation applies to the application window, eligibility rules, fee details and the exact application-portal process; they should not be inferred from the result notice or later cycles.
