The UPSC CDS I 2024 final merit list is a historical result, not a newly released one. The Union Public Service Commission announced the final result on January 7, 2025, for candidates who qualified through the examination and Services Selection Board interviews. To check the official result, use the UPSC written-results archive and locate “Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2024 — Final Result, OTA.”
Where to check the UPSC CDS I 2024 final merit list
Use UPSC’s official Written Results Archives to find the final result PDF. The archive is preferable to an old direct-download link if that link no longer resolves. UPSC’s archive lists the CDS (I), 2026 written result as uploaded on May 8, 2026; check the live archive for current-cycle results rather than treating the 2024 final list as current.
How to download and check the result PDF
- Open the UPSC Written Results Archives.
- Find “Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2024 — Final Result, OTA.” Check that the entry is for the final result, not the written-examination result.
- Open the result and download the PDF using your browser’s download control.
- Use the PDF search function to look for your roll number. Confirm the number carefully before drawing a conclusion from a match.
The original report also directed candidates to the “what’s new” area on the UPSC homepage. If the older entry is difficult to locate, use the written-results archive rather than an unofficial mirror.
What the final merit list says
According to the Union Public Service Commission release published by the Press Information Bureau on January 7, 2025, 590 candidates—470 men and 120 women—finally qualified based on the CDS Examination (I), 2024 result and Services Selection Board interviews. The candidates were listed for the 121st Short Service Commission Course (Men) and 35th Short Service Commission Women (Non-Technical) Course at the Officers Training Academy, Chennai, scheduled to commence in April 2025.

The men’s list included some candidates who had already been recommended for courses at the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy or Air Force Academy on the basis of the same examination. The release distinguishes the OTA lists for men and women.
What inclusion does—and does not—confirm
The official release cautions that medical examination results were not taken into account in preparing the merit list, and that candidates’ candidature remained provisional. It said Army Headquarters would verify date of birth and educational qualifications. Therefore, appearing on the list confirms the result status described in the release, but does not by itself establish that medical and eligibility verification is complete or that appointment is unconditional.

This is the wording of the UPSC final-result release published by PIB on January 7, 2025.
