UPSC’s CDS (I) 2024 written result is available as a name-and-roll-number list dated 31 July 2024. To get it, open the official UPSC written-results archive, find “Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2024,” and open or download the associated document. Choose the file by result stage: the written-result list is different from the later final results and marks document.

How to download the CDS (I) 2024 written-result PDF

  1. Go to the UPSC written-results archive.

  2. Locate the entry titled “Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2024.” The relevant name-and-roll-number written-result notice is dated 31 July 2024.

  3. Open the document associated with that entry and download or save the PDF using your browser’s available controls. Archive layouts can change, so use the notice title and date to identify the correct document.

  4. Search the document for your name or roll number. Check the course grouping carefully: the notice covers IMA, INA, AFA, OTA (Men), and OTA (Women).

Which CDS 1 2024 result document do you need?

UPSC published separate documents for written qualification, final results, and marks. Use the archive that matches your question rather than treating every CDS result PDF as the same list.

What the 31 July written result covers

The examination was held on 21 April 2024. UPSC first issued a roll-number-wise written result notice on 9 May 2024, then published the name-and-roll-number written result on 31 July. The later notice covers candidates who qualified for admission to IMA, INA, AFA, and OTA for men and women. It is a written-stage result, not the final recommendation list or a marksheet.

What happened after the written result

IMA, INA, and AFA final result

UPSC’s 21 October 2024 final-result notice reported 237 finally qualified candidates: 158 for IMA, 44 for INA, and 35 for AFA. It listed 100 IMA vacancies, 32 INA vacancies, and 32 AFA vacancies for that notice; these are vacancy figures, not current forecasts. The notice also reported written-test-qualified counts of 1,954 for IMA, 586 for INA, and 628 for AFA. These counts refer to different stages and must not be added or confused with the final-qualified total.

The notice said medical examination results were not taken into account in preparing its lists. It also said date-of-birth and educational-qualification verification remained in process, so candidature was provisional pending those checks.

OTA final result and marks

A separate OTA final-result notice followed on 7 January 2025. That notice said marks would be made available after the OTA final result; UPSC’s marks archive lists the CDS I 2024 marks document as uploaded on 13 January 2025. Use the marks archive for that document rather than expecting marks in the July written-result PDF.
