For Junior Technical Officer (Sugar Technology), the notice specifies a science or engineering degree, an Associateship or postgraduate diploma in Sugar Technology, and three years of relevant teaching, research, advisory or managerial experience in a sugar factory. Assistant Legislative Counsel requires a law degree and one of the specified routes involving legal service, government legal work, law teaching or research, or legal practice. The Law Officer and cardiology specialist roles have separate education and experience criteria.

No. UPSC states: “The prescribed essential qualifications are the minimum and the mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for interview.” If applications are numerous, the commission may shortlist candidates using desirable qualifications, higher qualifications or experience, or conduct a recruitment test. UPSC says the interview date for shortlisted applicants will be announced separately.
