UPS said it chose him for his experience in finance, technology, mobility and industrial transformation, and later confirmed in its 2026 proxy that he serves on the board’s Audit Committee.
Why did UPS appoint Kevin Clark to its board?
UPS Board Chair William Johnson said Clark’s experience in finance, technology, mobility and industrial transformation would strengthen the board’s stewardship of the company. CEO Carol Tomé said Clark brought knowledge of healthcare and technology, which she described as strategic areas for UPS, and that his appointment would strengthen board perspectives as UPS sought to accelerate growth in those areas.
Those statements explain UPS’s rationale for the appointment; they are the company leaders’ assessment, not evidence that Clark’s appointment produced particular business results. In its announcement, Johnson said: “Kevin’s deep expertise in finance, technology, mobility, and industrial transformation make him an outstanding addition to the board, strengthening our stewardship of UPS.”
What was Clark’s career background?
Clark joined Aptiv in 2010 as chief financial officer, later served as chief operating officer, and became president and CEO in 2015. Aptiv named him chair and CEO in 2022. Before Aptiv, he was a founding partner of Liberty Lane Partners and held leadership roles at Fisher Scientific International. The 2025 UPS announcement says he earned a bachelor’s degree in financial administration and a Master of Finance from Michigan State University.

UPS’s 2026 proxy gives a later profile that also describes Clark’s leadership at Delphi Automotive and experience in finance and supply-chain management. UPS’s director profile highlights experience spanning technology strategy, finance and supply-chain management.
What is Clark’s role on the UPS board?
When UPS announced the appointment, it said Clark was expected to join the Audit Committee after the 2025 Annual Meeting of Shareowners. UPS’s 2026 proxy subsequently lists him as an independent director, a director since 2025, and an Audit Committee member. The proxy therefore confirms the committee role that was prospective in the original announcement.

How large is UPS, according to the announcement?
UPS’s March 2025 announcement described the company as having generated $91.1 billion in revenue in 2024 and serving customers in more than 200 countries and territories through integrated logistics services. The revenue figure refers specifically to 2024; it is not a current-year revenue figure.
