Cash App does not have one universal limit. It sets separate caps for sending and receiving peer-to-peer (P2P) payments, for spending with a Cash App Card, for ATM withdrawals, and for other features such as paper deposits and Bitcoin. For P2P payments, Cash App’s official educational page currently states: “Without verification, you can send up to $250 per 7 days and receive up to $1,000 per 30 days.” Completing identity verification can raise those figures, but Cash App does not publish a single verified-user P2P maximum, and it says it may set and change transaction limits. The figures in this guide reflect Cash App’s published materials as of October 2026. Your own current limits are shown in the app.
Sending and receiving P2P payments
These are the caps most people mean when they ask “What is my Cash App limit?” Cash App’s educational page currently publishes two numbers for accounts that have not completed verification:

- Sending: up to $250 within a 7-day period.
- Receiving: up to $1,000 within a 30-day period.
Verification is the route Cash App points to for higher figures. The company does not state a guaranteed cap for verified users. Limits can differ from account to account, and the exact amount that applies to you is the one displayed under Limits in the app.
Other Cash App limits, by transaction type
A declined payment is often caused by a different limit than the one people expect. The table separates the other main categories. Note that the P2P caps above do not apply to these features.

Card and ATM figures come from Cash App’s cardholder agreements, and the Bitcoin minimum comes from Cash App’s Bitcoin and Stablecoin Disclosures. Paper deposit terms come from Cash App’s US terms. Cash App updates these documents, so confirm against the current version in the app or on Cash App’s website.
What verification changes and what it may require
Cash App’s educational page links identity verification to higher sending and receiving limits. Cash App’s developer documentation describes the information the verification process may request:

- Cards are shipped active and ready for use.
- This card is non-reloadable. No cash or ATM access. Funds do not expire. If available funds remain on your card after the valid thru date has passed, please call customer service for a replacement card. A one-time purchase fee applies at the time of checkout. No fees after purchase.
- Double check if the URL/website is genuine before entering card details online. Do not provide any gift card details (example: claim code) to someone you do not know or trust. There are a variety of scams in which fraudsters try to trick others into paying with gift cards.
- If you believe that your Card has been lost or stolen, notify Mastercard immediately by calling 1-833-791-7288. You will be asked to provide the Gift Card number and other identifying information.
- Use your Mastercard Gift Card in the U.S. everywhere Mastercard debit cards are accepted, including online. Your Amazon.com Balance cannot be used to purchase Mastercard gift cards.
- Legal name, date of birth, and the last four digits of your Social Security number.
- In some cases, a full Social Security number, a residential address, or an unexpired government-issued photo ID.
- In some cases, information about income or the source of your funds.
Verification does not guarantee a particular cap. Eligibility and account review can affect the outcome, so treat any increase as something Cash App decides case by case. Complete the process only through the in-app prompts.
Why an older limit article may be out of date
Cash App’s US terms say: “We may adjust these limits at any time at our discretion.” That sentence appears in the section on P2P payment amount limits, and it is the reason any published figure, including those in this guide, should be checked against the app before you rely on it. A limit that was true when an article was written may not apply today.

- To access your card information safely, type the complete website address shown on your Gift Card (MyGift.GiftCardMall.com) directly into your browser's address bar. Don't use search engines or shortened versions of the website address, as these may lead you to fake or fraudulent sites. Do not provide any Gift Card details (example: Card Number) to someone you do not know or trust. If you believe you've reached an illegitimate website, contact cardholder service at 1-888-524-1283. Be cautious of phishing sites, there are a variety of scams in which fraudsters try to trick others into paying with gift cards.
- To report your Lost or Stolen Physical Visa Card, call Customer Service 24/7 at 1 (888) 524-1283 to cancel your Gift Card as soon as you can. You will be asked to provide the Gift Card number and other identifying information.
- Use your Visa Gift Card in the U.S. everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted, including online.
How to check your current limits
- Open the Cash App and go to Profile.
- Select Limits.
- Review the limit shown for each category you use, such as sending, receiving, card spending, and withdrawals.
Cash App’s cardholder agreement points users to this same Profile > Limits area for card limits, so it is the authoritative place to see your figures.
When a payment is declined
Work through these checks in order. Most declines trace back to one specific limit.

- Identify the feature. Was it a P2P send, an incoming payment, a bank cash-out, a Cash App Card purchase, an ATM or point-of-sale withdrawal, a paper deposit, or a Bitcoin transaction? Each one has its own rules.
- Compare against the Limits screen. If the amount is above the figure shown for that category, the payment will not go through until the limit allows it or you send a smaller amount.
- Check for a verification request. If the app asks for verification, complete it through the in-app process. Do not expect an instant increase.
- Check the ATM operator. An ATM or merchant may apply its own cap or fee even when your Cash App limit is higher.
- Review instant cash-out fees. The app shows the fee before you confirm, and that fee is subject to change.
- Confirm the Bitcoin minimum. On-chain Bitcoin withdrawals require at least 5,000 satoshis.

This guide covers Cash App accounts in the United States. It does not establish the rules for other countries, and it does not cover every Cash App account type. Limits can vary by account, and the figures above are Cash App’s published caps as of October 2026, not guarantees for any individual user.
