It is not a current deadline. UIIC’s separate 2026 recruitment has also closed: the official application portal lists 1 October 2026 as the last date to register and pay the fee. Applicants who already submitted an application can print it through 16 October 2026; printing is not a way to apply late.
Which UIIC deadline does the headline refer to?
Scroll published the headline on 23 January 2024, the last day to apply for that recruitment of 250 Administrative Officer (Generalist) posts. The word “today” refers to the article’s publication date, not the date you are reading it. Scroll’s 2024 report describes that earlier cycle.
Can you still apply for UIIC AO posts?
No. The separate 2026 recruitment window ran from 8 September through 1 October 2026. The official IBPS application portal lists 1 October 2026 as the close date for registration and online fee payment. As of 8 October 2026, new applications for that drive are closed.
The portal lists 16 October 2026 as the last date to print an application already submitted. That later date is for printing only; it does not extend registration or fee payment.

Where to check eligibility and application conditions
Use the official UIIC recruitment notices to confirm the full criteria for a particular recruitment cycle. The IBPS portal says applications are subject to subsequent scrutiny and may be rejected if the applicant does not meet the notification’s criteria. Read the relevant notice and application instructions rather than relying on a summary of degree requirements.
