The most widely circulated estimate puts Islam Makhachev’s UFC 322 pay at $3,332,000 and Jack Della Maddalena’s at $1,542,000. Both figures come from UFC Fans, which published them on November 17, 2025. The UFC does not officially disclose fighter pay, so these are estimates, not confirmed earnings. UFC 322 took place at Madison Square Garden in New York on November 15, 2025, where Makhachev won the 170-pound championship by unanimous decision.
What the published estimates show
UFC Fans builds its estimates from reported base purses and event bonuses. The table below reproduces its components as published. Its source is a French-language salary page, and its estimates are not official disclosures. UFC Fans, “UFC 322 – Les salaires (estimation) | New York,” November 17, 2025.
| Fighter | Estimated base pay | Incentive pay (as itemized) | Listed estimated total | Sum of the itemized components |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Islam Makhachev | $3,000,000 | $32,000 | $3,332,000 | $3,032,000, which is $300,000 below the listed total |
| Jack Della Maddalena | $1,500,000 | $42,000 | $1,542,000 | $1,542,000, which matches the listed total |
Why Makhachev’s total does not reconcile
The components listed for Makhachev add up to $3,032,000. The published total is $3,332,000. The source, as reproduced, does not explain the $300,000 difference. It could reflect an item that is not itemized, or it could be a transcription error. Until the source explains it, the defensible reading is that Makhachev’s estimated pay is $3,032,000 based on the listed components, with $3,332,000 as the headline figure the publisher gave. Della Maddalena’s figures are internally consistent.
Compliance payments: the same amounts under a different label
Yahoo Sports reported the same two amounts as payments under UFC’s Promotional Guidelines Compliance program: $32,000 for Makhachev and $42,000 for Della Maddalena. According to the report, these payments are tiered by a fighter’s UFC bout count, including eligible Zuffa-era WEC and Strikeforce bouts. The overlap matters for anyone adding figures together. UFC Fans counts these amounts as incentive pay inside its totals. Yahoo describes them as compliance payments. Adding the Yahoo amounts on top of the UFC Fans totals would count the same money twice. Neither source shows the program payment as a separate line on top of the estimated totals.
A second estimate with a different breakdown
Sporty Salaries also published UFC 322 pay estimates in November 2025, under different assumptions, including possible pay-per-view shares. Its breakdown differs from UFC Fans’. What is not known
None of the reviewed reporting establishes either fighter’s complete UFC 322 compensation. It does not confirm contractual terms, pay-per-view shares, or other undisclosed payments. The published figures describe base purses, bonuses, and compliance payments for one event. They are not a full accounting of what either fighter earned.
The event itself is confirmed by the Associated Press, which reported Makhachev’s unanimous decision win at Madison Square Garden. Associated Press, “Islam Makhachev wins 170-pound championship at UFC 322 in Madison Square Garden,” November 16, 2025. The UFC’s own event update covers the same bout: UFC official event update.

How to read fighter pay estimates
- Check whether the source calls the figures official or estimated. UFC pay is not officially published, so most figures in circulation are estimates.
- Add the components yourself. A headline total that does not match its parts, as with Makhachev’s listed figure, is a reason to pause before quoting it.
- Identify each line. A dollar amount can appear as incentive pay in one report and as a compliance payment in another. Count it once.
- Note the publication date. These figures describe the November 15, 2025 card, not later contracts or purses.
- Treat pay-per-view shares and undisclosed payments as unknowns unless a source itemizes them.
The Bottom Line
Della Maddalena’s estimated UFC 322 pay is $1,542,000, and its components add up. Makhachev’s listed estimate is $3,332,000, but the components published for it total $3,032,000, so the $300,000 gap should be treated as unexplained. Both are estimates from UFC Fans, not official pay, and the $32,000 and $42,000 compliance amounts are already inside those totals.
