They come from a secondary salary estimate published by UFC Fans, which labels its own numbers as estimates. No official UFC or regulator document located for this event confirms them.
The reported figures and where they come from
UFC Fans published a French-language page titled “UFC 313 – Les salaires (estimation),” which translates roughly to “UFC 313 – Salaries (estimate).” That title is the clearest signal of what the numbers are. The page sets out the three amounts below for the March 8, 2025 event.
| Fighter | Reported UFC 313 figure | Source and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Alex Pereira | $1,042,000 | UFC Fans estimate. Not established as an official purse or total compensation. |
| Magomed Ankalaev | $782,000 | UFC Fans estimate. Not established as an official purse or total compensation. |
| Justin Gaethje | $561,000 | UFC Fans estimate. Not established as an official purse or total compensation. |
These are the only dollar amounts for the three fighters that could be traced to a named source. Treat them as a secondary reporter’s approximation.
What the estimates do not establish
Three things are easy to confuse with a salary figure, and none of them settles the question.

- A purse is not a paycheck. A fight purse is typically gross pay before the fighter’s manager, coach, gym, taxes, and training costs are paid. A $1 million headline number can translate into much less kept income.
- A result sheet is not a pay record. The Nevada State Athletic Commission event results document for UFC 313 records the bout outcomes. It does not list the three fighters’ purse amounts.
- The UFC scorecards are not salary data. UFC’s official scorecard report and event recap confirm what happened in the cage, not what anyone was paid.
Nothing located for this article shows whether the estimates include win bonuses, performance bonuses, sponsorship income, or the fighters’ show money. Readers should not assume they do, or that they do not.
What is verifiable about the event
The results are well documented, which makes the salary question easier to frame accurately.

- Venue and date: UFC 313: Pereira vs. Ankalaev took place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on March 8, 2025.
- Main event: Magomed Ankalaev defeated Alex Pereira by unanimous decision. UFC’s official scorecard report records the cards as 49–46, 48–47, and 48–47. UFC’s event recap identifies Ankalaev as the new light heavyweight champion.
- Co-featured bout: Justin Gaethje defeated Rafael Fiziev by unanimous decision, 29–28 on all three cards, according to UFC’s official scorecard report.
How to read the numbers if you want to use them
If you are writing about combat-sports earnings or comparing fighters, use the figures as an order-of-magnitude reference, not a ledger entry. Attribute each one to UFC Fans, keep the word “estimate” attached, and avoid describing any of them as guaranteed or total compensation. Pereira’s and Ankalaev’s figures are both above $750,000 in the same estimate, while Gaethje’s sits lower; the source does not explain why, so any explanation would be speculation.
If you need confirmed pay for a specific fighter, look for a disclosure from the fighter, the UFC, or the regulator in the state where the bout was contested, and check the date and scope of that disclosure. A figure from a different event or a different year should not be substituted.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why this matters for personal finance readers
Fighter pay is a case study in variable income. A fighter’s headline number can change sharply between bouts, depends on the card position and the result, and is usually reduced by costs the public never sees. Readers who want to apply this to their own budgeting should plan around the lowest reliable figure, not the most eye-catching estimate, and should treat any single-event number as a one-off rather than a recurring income stream.
