Third-party estimates put Sean Strickland’s listed UFC 297 compensation at $592,000 and Dricus Du Plessis’s at $432,000. Those totals combine estimated base pay with reported compliance pay and the confirmed $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus for each fighter. They are not official, complete purse disclosures or take-home pay.

Confirmed event bonuses
UFC announced that Strickland and Du Plessis each received a $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus at UFC 297. The announcement also named Jasmine Jasudavicius and Gillian Robertson as Performance of the Night recipients, with $50,000 for each awardee. UFC’s event announcement confirms the awards, not the fighters’ full compensation.
Reported compliance pay
Contemporaneous MMA Junkie reporting, republished by Yahoo Sports, lists $42,000 for Strickland and $32,000 for Du Plessis under the UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance program. The program covers requirements including outfitting and media obligations. These amounts identify one payment category; they do not confirm base contracts or total compensation. Yahoo Sports’ republication of the MMA Junkie report provides those figures.

Estimated base pay
The $500,000 and $350,000 base-pay figures come from a secondary salary-estimate page, which labels its figures as estimates. They are not official Ontario commission disclosures. UFC Fans’ UFC 297 salary estimates also supplies the category figures used to calculate the subtotals above.
Why the totals are not take-home earnings
The $592,000 and $432,000 figures add only the categories shown: estimated base pay, compliance pay, and the event bonus. The available reporting does not establish either fighter’s complete contract or whether additional compensation applied. It also does not establish pay-per-view shares, taxes, manager fees, or other deductions. The listed subtotals therefore cannot show what either fighter ultimately kept.
