UCO Bank Raises Repo-Linked, T-Bill-Linked and G-Sec Rates From 8 October 2026

UCO Bank raised selected repo-linked, T-bill-linked and G-Sec benchmarks effective 8 October 2026. The effect on an individual loan depends on its benchmark, spread and reset terms.

UCO Bank’s revised repo-linked, Treasury-bill-linked and G-Sec-linked benchmarks took effect on 8 October 2026. The bank’s UCO Float rate is now 8.30%, while its listed T-bill-linked rates are 5.30% for three months, 5.70% for six months and 5.95% for 12 months. These benchmark changes do not, by themselves, show how much any individual borrower’s interest rate or EMI will change.

What are UCO Bank’s new benchmark rates?

The bank’s published rate pages and PTI reporting carried by ThePrint give the current figures and, where reported, the previous rates:

How the T-bill-linked rate works

UCO Bank describes TBLR as the average yield on Treasury bills for the corresponding tenor during the previous month. Its published TBLR schedule covers specified loan categories with tenors up to 12 months; the bank also notes that eligibility depends on the loan category and applicable MCLR-linkage conditions. The listed 3-, 6- and 12-month rates therefore are not universal rates for every UCO Bank loan.

Which rates did not change?

PTI reports that UCO Bank left MCLR, the base rate and BPLR unchanged in this revision. The bank’s MCLR schedule, dated 10 July 2026, lists these rates:

MCLR tenor Rate on the 10 July 2026 schedule
Overnight 7.90%
One month 8.20%
Three months 8.45%
Six months 8.70%
One year 8.80%

The figures are from UCO Bank’s MCLR page. They are the schedule dated 10 July 2026, not a new MCLR revision dated 8 October.

Will your UCO Bank EMI go up?

The benchmark announcement alone cannot establish whether your EMI will rise, when a change will take effect, or by how much. The answer depends on the benchmark named in your loan agreement, your contractual spread, the loan’s reset date or frequency, and other applicable terms. A borrower whose loan follows a benchmark that did not change may have a different outcome from one whose loan follows a revised benchmark.

To understand your own loan, check your sanction letter or loan documents for the benchmark and spread, then confirm the applicable reset date and revised rate with UCO Bank. Do not treat the full benchmark movement as an automatic increase in your loan rate or EMI.

What to compare when reviewing a loan offer

A headline benchmark rate is only one part of the borrowing cost. When comparing offers, check the benchmark type and current value, the contractual spread, reset timing, loan tenor and total repayment cost. The available rate information does not establish which lender or refinancing option would be best for a particular borrower.
