Tyson Foods announced a goal to stop using high-fructose corn syrup in its branded products produced in the United States by the end of 2025. The commitment also named sucralose, BHA/BHT and titanium dioxide. Tyson’s later fiscal-year results still described the removals as a future goal, and the available company statements do not confirm whether it was completed by the deadline.
What Tyson Foods announced
In a September 15, 2025 announcement, Tyson Foods said it aimed to stop using four ingredients in the production of its branded products in the U.S. by the end of that year:
- High-fructose corn syrup
- Sucralose
- BHA/BHT
- Titanium dioxide
The company named Tyson, Jimmy Dean, Hillshire Farm, Wright, State Fair, Aidells and ibp among the brand families covered, along with other brands. It did not identify individual products or publish a product-by-product reformulation list.
Which products and markets does the goal cover?
The stated scope is branded products produced in the United States. It is not a promise about every Tyson product worldwide, and the announcement does not establish that every item sold under the named brands contains one of the four ingredients—or needs a recipe change.

The announcement’s wording is also more specific than “corn syrup”: Tyson named high-fructose corn syrup. It identified three additional ingredients as part of the same goal.
Has Tyson completed the removals?
Completion is not confirmed by the company statements cited here. In its November 10, 2025 fiscal-year results, Tyson still described the removals prospectively as something it would do “by year-end.” That confirms the commitment remained part of the company’s plan at that time; it does not establish whether the changes were completed by December 31, 2025.

Tyson said the four ingredients are FDA approved and safe to use. That is the company’s stated context for its decision, not an independent safety assessment in the announcement. Donnie King, identified there as Tyson’s president and CEO, said: “We continuously review and assess our product portfolio to ensure the highest quality products that meet the needs of consumers.”
