Why the Usyk rematch total is not Fury’s purse
Boxing coverage can use “purse” for different things: the combined amount allocated to both fighters, a guaranteed minimum, or broader compensation that may include bonuses or pay-per-view participation. Those measures are not interchangeable.
The Independent’s report on the Riyadh rematch on 21 December 2024 put the total purse near $191 million (£150 million) and said Usyk would receive a greater percentage than in their first fight. Forbes annual earnings are a different measure
