DoorDash login errors do not all have the same cause. The problem may be an incorrect password, a delayed verification code, the wrong sign-in method, an app or browser failure, a locked Dasher account, or a DoorDash outage. Identify the category first, then use the least disruptive fix.
These instructions cover both consumer accounts and Dasher accounts. Dasher-specific steps are labeled.

First checks before changing anything
- Confirm which DoorDash service you use. Customers sign in through the consumer app or website. Dashers use the Dasher app and may encounter additional security reviews, payout restrictions, and Dasher-app outages.
- Check the account identifier. Try the email address or phone number actually associated with the account. Search old DoorDash emails to identify the correct address.
- Check the sign-in method. The consumer login page supports email, Google, Facebook, and Apple sign-in. If you created the account through Google, Apple, or Facebook, using a separate DoorDash password may not work. Apple’s private-relay address can also make the account email look unfamiliar. - Test the scope of the problem. Try the website if the app fails, or the app if the website fails. If possible, test both Wi-Fi and mobile data.
- Disable a VPN temporarily. A VPN, privacy filter, or unusual network route can interfere with authentication. Do not use this step to bypass an account restriction.
1. Incorrect password, invalid credentials, or a forgotten password
First confirm that you are using the correct account and login provider. Password managers sometimes autofill an old password or the email for a different DoorDash account.

For consumer accounts
Choose Forgot Password from the official DoorDash login flow. Check your spam, junk, and promotions folders for the reset email. Create a unique password and then return to the official app or website to sign in. DoorDash’s consumer account guidance is available through its account-information help page.

For Dasher accounts
- Open the Dasher app.
- Look for Account or the menu icon, then open Settings.
- Log out if the app allows it.
- On the login screen, select Forgot Password.
- Enter the account email and follow the reset email.
You can also use DoorDash’s documented reset page: doordash.com/accounts/password/reset. DoorDash says the reset email may come from [email protected] with the subject “Password reset on www.doordash.com.” It also states that changing a Dasher password changes the password for the associated consumer DoorDash account.
A password reset will not fix a DoorDash outage, a security review, loss of access to the registered email or phone, a wrong sign-in provider, or a deactivated account.
2. Verification code not arriving or being rejected
Verification failures can result from weak connectivity, an incorrect phone number, carrier filtering, delayed text messages, opting out of DoorDash texts, too many requests, or a code being sent to another account contact.

If the code does not arrive
- Confirm the phone number or email shown on the screen.
- Check that Wi-Fi or mobile data works and that airplane mode is off.
- Make sure the number can receive SMS; landlines may not work for text verification.
- Check with the mobile carrier for blocked or delayed short-code messages.
- Do not repeatedly tap Resend Code. Older messages can arrive late, making it unclear which code is current.
For consumer phone verification during account creation, DoorDash says to resend after one minute. For Dasher two-step verification, DoorDash says to wait five minutes before selecting Re-Send Code. If available in the Dasher app, use Get help > Send code by email. If you previously unsubscribed from DoorDash texts, email delivery or support may be required to restore access. If the code is rejected
Use the newest code only. A previously requested code may have expired or been invalidated when another code was sent. Enter it carefully and avoid requesting more codes while troubleshooting.
If you see “too many attempts”
Stop entering codes. DoorDash’s consumer and Dasher guidance says to wait 30 minutes after being blocked by too many verification attempts. Then try once with the newest code. This is generally a temporary security cooldown, not proof of a permanent ban.

If you no longer control the registered phone number or email, repeated code requests will not solve the problem. Contact DoorDash through its official Help Center instead. Never share a verification code with someone who claims to be support.

For Dashers, troubleshoot the app in this order:
- Check the phone’s operating-system and Dasher-app versions.
- Update the Dasher app through the appropriate app store.
- Disable a VPN and switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
- Force-close and relaunch the app.
- Restart the phone.
- Log out and back in if the app permits it. On iOS, the documented path is generally Account > Settings > Log Out; on Android, it may be Menu > Log Out. Labels can vary by version.
- Try another phone if the problem continues.
- Reinstall the app only after ordinary troubleshooting and outage checks fail.
DoorDash warns that rooted or jailbroken devices may have trouble accessing the Dasher app. Its Dasher troubleshooting guidance also recommends checking connectivity, avoiding VPN use, and trying another device.
4. Website login or browser error
If the DoorDash website fails but the app works, the problem is more likely local to the browser or network. Try these steps:

- Restart the browser.
- Try another current browser, such as Chrome or Firefox.
- Open DoorDash in a private or incognito window.
- Clear DoorDash cookies and cached files.
- Temporarily disable ad blockers, privacy extensions, and script blockers.
- Confirm that cookies and JavaScript are enabled.
- Switch networks if the site works on mobile data but not Wi-Fi.
DoorDash’s browser guidance recommends restarting the browser, trying another browser, and clearing cookies and cached images or files. That guidance is published on DoorDash’s Canada help-center path, so menu labels may differ by country or browser version: DoorDash website troubleshooting.

A locked Dasher account is different from an ordinary password error. DoorDash says it may lock an account when it detects unusual or suspicious activity. Its examples include certain contract violations, incorrectly reporting a store as closed, background-check issues, and other security concerns.
During a review, a Dasher may be unable to Dash, cash out earnings, change payout details, or start or reply to chats with customers or merchants. DoorDash says the review may take up to 24 hours and that support cannot bypass the review period.

Do not keep resetting the password, create a duplicate Dasher account, or attempt to evade the restriction. Wait for the result in the Dasher app. If DoorDash later deactivates the account, follow the appeal option provided. If there is no update after the stated period, contact official support. 6. DoorDash outage or authentication failure
Suspect a service-side problem when the failure begins suddenly and affects more than login. Warning signs include the app crashing, inability to start or end a Dash, missing earnings or completed-order information, and the same account failing on multiple devices and networks.
Do not assume DoorDash is currently down without checking an official DoorDash announcement or Help Center update. If a Dasher outage is confirmed, DoorDash tells Dashers to refresh and keep trying to log in, but specifically warns them not to reset the password or uninstall and reinstall the app during the outage. A simple decision tree
- Website works, app fails: update, force-close, restart the phone, disable the VPN, and test another device. Reinstall only after ruling out an outage.
- App and website both fail: check the exact message. It may indicate credentials, verification, an account lock, or a service issue.
- Another account works on the same phone: focus on the affected account’s credentials, verification, or security status.
- The same account fails on several devices and networks: check for a lock, incorrect account identifier, verification failure, or DoorDash outage.
- A newer code is rejected: stop requesting codes, wait if blocked, then use the newest code once.
When to contact DoorDash support
Escalate through the official DoorDash Help Center when:
- You cannot access the registered email or phone number.
- The password-reset email does not arrive after checking spam and confirming the account address.
- Verification remains blocked after the stated waiting period.
- Your Dasher account remains locked after the stated review period.
- The account fails across devices and networks with no clear outage explanation.
- You suspect unauthorized access, an unexpected payout change, or a changed account contact.
- The account appears deactivated and you need the official appeal process.
DoorDash states that chat and phone support availability can change. Verify current options on the official Dasher App Support page or the relevant DoorDash Help Center page rather than relying on numbers from search results or unofficial websites.
What to include in a support request
- The email address or phone number associated with the account.
- Whether you are a customer or Dasher.
- The exact error wording.
- The approximate date and time the problem began.
- Your device model and operating-system version.
- The DoorDash app version or browser name.
- Whether Wi-Fi and mobile data were tested.
- Whether another device was tested.
- A screenshot with passwords, verification codes, payment details, and other sensitive information redacted.
Bottom line
Start by identifying whether the failure is caused by credentials, verification, the app or browser, the device, account security, or DoorDash itself. Reset a password only when the evidence points to a password problem, wait instead of repeatedly requesting codes, and avoid reinstalling the Dasher app during a confirmed outage. A locked account, inaccessible contact method, or persistent failure across devices requires official DoorDash support rather than another round of guesses.
