Two Western Australian tickets each won $276,000 in Division Two of the Thursday, 23 May 2024 Powerball draw. They were sold at The Good Grocer Karratha IGA and Midland Gate Lottery Kiosk. Neither won the $150 million Division One jackpot: that prize went to a ticket in South Australia.
Where were the winning WA tickets sold?
Lotterywest identified the retailers as The Good Grocer Karratha IGA and Midland Gate Lottery Kiosk in its announcement about the draw. The announcement names the outlets, but does not identify the players or establish whether either ticket was bought by an individual or a syndicate.
How much did each ticket win?
Each WA ticket won $276,000 in Division Two, according to Lotterywest. The $150 million prize was the Division One jackpot, won by a South Australian entry—not either of the WA tickets.
PerthNow reported that the two WA entries were among nine Division Two winners nationally in the draw. Lotterywest’s announcement is the primary source for the WA retailers and the amount paid to each winning ticket.

What does Division Two mean?
Under Lotterywest’s current Powerball game information, Division Two requires matching all seven main winning numbers. Lotterywest lists approximate odds of 1 in 7,078,443 for one standard game. Those are current published odds, not a verified record of the rules or odds in force for the May 2024 draw, and they should not be read as the odds for a ticket with multiple games or other entry conditions.
Is it known whether the prizes were claimed?
The available announcement does not say whether either winning ticket was claimed or who held it. Lotterywest’s current prize-claim guidance says prizes must be claimed within 12 months of the draw date. That ordinary window for a 23 May 2024 draw has elapsed; the published information does not establish what happened with these particular prizes.

What Lotterywest said about the result
In its announcement, Lotterywest CEO Colin Smith said the organisation was “proud to be the only State Government owned and operated lottery in the country,” and that profits from games such as Powerball are returned to the WA community. He also said Lotterywest had “once again raised millions of dollars” for community projects, events and initiatives. These are statements by Lotterywest and Smith, rather than independently verified findings in the event announcement.
