Ruairi McConville and Kellen Fisher are two plausible candidates to become valuable Norwich City sales, but neither has a confirmed bid or published asking price. Read Norwich’s March 2026 feature also named Paris Maghoma, so this is an editorial selection of two players—not a definitive club shortlist. The strongest headline figure attached to either player is a conditional £20 million opinion about McConville, not a valuation or offer.
Why these two Norwich players?
Read Norwich’s 6 March 2026 feature identified McConville, Fisher and Maghoma as possible future high-value sales. This article focuses on McConville and Fisher because the reporting described a young defender taking on senior responsibility and a young right-back established in the first team. Maghoma, 24, was the third candidate in that feature; his omission here reflects the title’s two-player scope, not a finding that he has less potential.
Ruairi McConville: a young defender with a striking milestone
What he has done
Read Norwich described McConville as a 20-year-old Northern Ireland defender who became Norwich’s youngest-ever captain when he led the side in an FA Cup tie against West Bromwich Albion. The feature also called him a standout since Philippe Clement took charge. Those details suggest that he has earned a notable senior role early in his career, though the report does not provide a full season-by-season statistical record.
What the money figures mean
Read Norwich raised Norwich’s £25 million sale of Ben Godfrey as a historical comparison and speculated that the club might hope for a similar fee if McConville kept developing quickly. That is the writer’s hypothetical, not Norwich’s stated valuation or an agreed price.

In a 2026 report, Read Brighton relayed former footballer Kevin Phillips’s view that McConville could attract Premier League interest “around the £20m mark” if he sustained his form. This is a conditional opinion reported second-hand—not a bid, asking price or independently established market value. The same Read Brighton article relayed an Irish FA estimate that McConville’s 2025 move to Norwich cost around £1.25 million, potentially rising to more than double that with add-ons. Neither the eventual total nor any add-on payment is established by that estimate.
Kellen Fisher: established at right-back, with reported interest
Read Norwich described Fisher as a 21-year-old right-back who had made 32 league appearances that season and established himself ahead of the more experienced Jack Stacey. It also identified him as an England under-21 international. Together, those details point to first-team experience and international recognition at a young age.

The same feature said reports suggested interest from Everton and other Premier League clubs, but it did not name or link a primary source for that claim. There is no confirmation in the cited reporting of a bid, negotiation or Norwich asking price. The available evidence therefore supports describing outside interest as reported, not confirmed.
What would count as “serious money”?
The available figures are not comparable valuations for the two players. McConville has a conditional £20 million opinion and a speculative historical comparison with Godfrey’s £25 million Norwich sale; Fisher has no comparable figure in the cited reporting. Neither player has a confirmed transfer fee or published Norwich asking price in these reports, so there is no sound basis for ranking their potential sale prices.

For Norwich, the finance case is possibility rather than certainty: senior performances can make a player more attractive to other clubs, but a future fee depends on development, demand and a completed transaction. The cited reports do not establish either player’s contract length or release clause, and they do not show that Norwich plans to sell.

Broader academy context should not be confused with evidence about McConville or Fisher. Speaking to BBC Radio Norfolk about Ajay Tavares’s departure, head coach Philippe Clement said: “We spoke to him about staying here, we had good talks about that, but at the end he made the choice to go and I understand why.” He also said: “Everybody needs to be proud about that. Barcelona is not bringing in lots of players so that means he has exceptional things.” Tavares had signed for Barcelona by February 2026; Clement’s comments concern his departure, not Norwich’s intentions for either player discussed here.
